•Maintenance Manager. is the Head of maintenance Organization structure in Shuaibah III Power and Desalination Plant which consists of Mechanical, Electrical, I&C and Civil Maintenance Sections with nine Engineers (four Seniors and five junior ) to be accomplished the quality policies and objective through subordinate reporting directly to them and for whose work they are responsible and accountable.
•To organize modern maintenance management.
•Ensure and direct implementation of efficient and effective maintenance methods and techniques.
•Analyze and study operating maintenance costs and take necessary measures as required.
•Establish and ensure maintenance of effective monitoring and reporting system.
•Ensure that adequate and trained personnel are available to effectively carry out plant activities.
•To establish the maintenance planning organization.
•To organize and recruit the technical personnel for the a/m sections.
•To organize the preventive maintenance schedules.
•To organize the preventive maintenance procedures.
•To keep up high availability factor by implementing preventive maintenance schedules by optimizing the production of generated power and water.
•Establish safety and inspection regulation rules.
•To establish repair & maintenance individual workshops with tools and test equipment for the a/m sections.
•To organize the annual inspections and maintenance schedules.
•Co-ordinate and control necessary relations with Customer necessary for accomplishment of the function sees that the staffs are kept informed of scientific and technical developments in fields at present or potential interest.
•To arrange training courses for the maintenance technical staff.
•To prepare training material for technical staff in book forms and ready reference handouts for instruments, tools at test equipment.
•To make foreign purchase orders for spare parts to keep spare parts available as necessary.
•To prepare annual financial budget.
•To implement the contractual specification for spare parts tools and test equipment’s co-ordination with the suppliers.
•To hold discussions with the contractors and suppliers and their specialists to complete the pending and punch list items.
•To hold the station manager position whenever necessary and handle the management of the station and operation in addition to the maintenance.
•Conduct interviews to recruit engineers for NOMAC.
•To keep up the optimum generation levels and plant efficiency by analysing the defects and implementing the suitable modifications and improvements.
•To conduct co-ordination meeting within the different sections of maintenance department(E/M/I&C) to have trouble free running of the plant and to maintain harmonious relationship (to boost the morale of the staff).
•To make arrangements to carry out the corrective maintenance in a safe and professional way.
•Reporting to Plant Manager, summary of monthly maintenance activities with any recommendations of modification and annual report.
•Also report incident reports with causes and remedy actions to Plant Manager
•Weekly meetings arranged with Section Heads to discuss operating conditions, maintenance progress work and difficulties and solution with plan for next week.
•Recommend and report in regular basis to the Plant Manager as per requirements.
•Recommend for approval of Plant Manager necessary extensions of Plant aimed at increasing production.
•Operate within approved budgetary limits.
•Approve expenses incurred by his subordinates in the course of performing their duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
•Appraise and recommend for the approval of Plant Manager Major modifications in his basic organization plan,
•Recommend and submit to immediate superior proposals regarding any promotion, dismissal or disciplinary action for employees under his jurisdiction.
Project management of Samra power plant (300MW) Phase I & II including-equipment Inspection of erection, piping(oil, gas, steam), tanks, HRSG, STG, GT, HVAC, Steel Structures, DM plant including RO unit, coordination with consultants(kuljian) and contractor (BV* and Gama for Phase I and GE** for Phase II), quality control, reviewing drawing and design issues, invoice/payments matter, spares parts selection and purchase, general administration, safety.
In the same time Mechanical Maintenance Manager in Samra power plant Phase I (300MW) which is completed now and it’s in operation since 2005. -Phase II still under construction. -

2. In charge of steam generator(Boiler) mechanical maintenance Section whose responsibilities include :
• Maintenance of 5 x 130 MW steam generator ( Boilers ) and its
auxiliary Equipment’s such as:
# Rotating equipment’s:
• Pumps (centrifugal \[\{ Single.-, Multistage, Horizontal, Vertical \} variable & constant speed \], Screw, piston, gear & Diaphragm pumps).
• Fans, Forced Draft Fans, Gas Recirculation Fans.
• Compressors (Reciprocating type).
• Gas Air Preheaters.
• Francis hydraulic turbine.
# Boilers
• Corner firing, forced draft Fuel Firing type, Fairness, Air nozzles
• Dampers and Expansion Joints, Ducts…etc.
• Firing equipment’s (Burners…. etc.)
# Auxiliary Plants:
• Water treatment plant.

3. In charge of mechanical laboratory Engineer whose responsibilities include:
• Vibration data acquisition and analysis, using CSI 2100 master trend, and since 2001 using of data collector enpac 1200A / intack-IRD (Rockwell Automation) and EMONITOR Odyssey Software.
• Destructive / Non destructive testing.
4. Preparation and studying of spare parts tenders.
5. Planning and implementing annual and major units overhaul.
6. prepare all reporting required including Annual Budget.
7. Participation in the commissioning of Aqaba second stage #2 ( 3 * 130 MW) Thermal units.
8. Supervision of day- to - day activities of mechanical section.
9. Preparation and performing a one month training course for fresh engineers at ATPS about operation and maintenance of the power plant.
10. Preparation of operation instruction for steam generation units, steam turbine and unit auxiliaries at ATPS .

- Main Responsibility of such a position is to start from cold / hot condition and maintain of 2x130MW units in operation in a safe and reliable manner constant. Supervision of the equipment's that are in service, gathering and analyzing of data to determine the best performance of the unit as a whole.
- Equipment's under supervision includes:
# Rotating equipment’s:
• Pumps (Screw, centrifugal “variable & constant speed “, piston & gear, …).
• Fans, Compressors (Reciprocating type).
• Francis hydraulic turbine.
# Boilers :
• Manufactured by MHI, Japan
• Corner firing, forced draft
• Fuel Firing type with 160 Kg/Cm2 drum Pressure, Boiler.
# Turbines :
Manufactured by Franco. Tosi with HP-IP & LP Stages.
• 2x130MW Steam turbine.
# Generators :
• 160 MVA, 15 KV out put, H2 Cooled Generators .2
# Water treatment plant.
# Hydrogen plant.
# Sodium hypochlorite plant
