The Hospital is the largest hospital in the country. Reporting to the Hospital Director. I manage a more team of fifty permanent officers (nurses and doctors) and up to forty rotating doctors.
Main responsibilities:
Involved in the setting up of emergency cares systems at the hospital and within the province.
Involved in the daily running of the department:
Clinical Care - attending to patients, ward rounds and active resuscitation of patients.
Capacity building - short and long term training of nurses, undergraduate and post graduate doctors.
Administration - human resource management, budget and training planning.
Achievements:
Set up a triage system which has been adopted nationwide.
Advocated for setting up of resuscitation rooms in hospitals across the country.
Rolling out the training of front-line workers in Basic Emergency Care.
