Bexair/RizonJet

Manama, Bahrain

January 2008 - December 2008

• 55 direct reports, responsible for HR, IT, Finance and Administration at Bexair.
• Finance
Oversaw the closing of the annual accounts. Insisted on an unqualified audit by a reputable accounting firm to assist the chairman in his plans for outside investment. Analysed all financial figures together with the accounts staff to determine profitable aircraft, revenue streams for exploitation, and which areas needed to be cut. Subsequent to a presentation of the financial figures and analysis on the fleet composition, all the XL and XLS aircraft were sold by the chairman.
• Human Resources
Overseeing 100 staff; Wrote HR policies, manuals of authority, personnel contracts, recruiting procedures; Raised morale using honest open dialogue, including half hour private sessions to address any issues. Reduced annual staff turnover to 5% which was at 50% before. As testament to the loyalty created, when moving to RizonJet, 30% of staff either resigned or tried to leave for RizonJet within a month.
• Sales
Using the figures from finance, realistic sales targets were set, set on a sliding scale dependent on aircraft availability. Subsequently, all targets were met, and Bexair became profitable in my last month.
• Legal
Knowledge of the Bahrain and Saudi labour law and resolved many of the outstanding legal cases from former employees.
• Information Communication Technology
