Algeria Business Development Manager, I am responsible for developing and maintaining productive relationship with both new and old clients. Also in charge of researching for new opportunities, client meetings, presentations, telephone conversations, e-mail correspondence and attend trade shows as appropriate in order to identify and develop leads through to quoting and eventual order securement.

Interim General Manager
As General Manager of Wood Group Somias I was responsible for the total operation and reporting to the WG Country Manager. The operations cover contracts across Algeria for various clients including Sonatrach, Sinopec, Naftec, BP, Statoil, Sonahess, Agip, Fertial and the Wood Group Somias workshops in Annaba, Arzew and Hassi Massaoud. The work varies from construction to maintenance, procurement, and engineering in all areas of industry in Algeria including power Generation, Chemicals, Oil and Gas.
The work force is multi national comprising of Algerian, French and British of all disciplines.
I initiated the process of modernising and improving Wood Group Somias and bringing it to a more internationally acceptable standard. The task was very challenging and has required all of my experience but particularly the experience of living and studying in the UK, and working for BP in Algeria which has given me the ability to communicate and liaise with British and European companies including our parent company with great success. The personal skills that led me to being offered the position, I feel are partly my experience and ability but also my long experience of working with various companies in Algeria that has given me a huge network of skilled professional people from all disciplines from within Algeria and from abroad who I can recruit to enable me put in place strong people experienced in working within Algeria both to support me and build the company.

SCM & Commercial Manager
Before my retirement from SH/BP/STATOIL association, Wood Group offered to me the position of SCM and Commercial manager of WGSomias a company owned by both WG (55%) and the national company Asmidal (45%) . During this period, I was responsible for the improvement of both Supply Chain Management and commercial performance by putting in place all the necessary systems and the implementation of WG procedures. The most important objective was to support the WG project team working for BP in line with the WG international standard and procedures and also with the client requirements in terms of HSE.

Supply Chain Manager
Joined the ISG/IA association as SCM Manager in December 2002.
Responsible for the recruitment, training and development of all staff employed within the SCM team. During this transition period it has been necessary to ensure continued ongoing support to the project works whilst developing an organisation to take the operations through its projected 25 years life. One of the essential objectives was to support the various operations by developing the local market of which I was responsible.
The SCM Team has been developed to cover all areas of Supply Chain, including Contracts, Purchasing, Inventory, Logistics, Warehousing and Base Management, all with a planned Algerianisation scheme. The set-up of the SCM Organisation has been developed in line with the requirements of the associations ensuring we meet at all times the guidelines set down to cover HSE, Environment Control, etc.
During my period with ISG & IA I have developed my skills of working with senior management and been responsible for the budget controls of the SCM Organisation and preparation of justification reports for presentation to the associations various management teams. The SCM Team has grown in numbers as the requirements of the team expanded and today we have 80 strong SCM team members supporting both In Salah & In Amenas.

Supply Chain Manager
In 1996, and within the largest operational areas of Sonatrach, I was promoted to the position of SCM manager in charge of the complete supply chain covering all areas including contracts, purchasing, Inventory, Warehousing and logistics. I was tasked with improving the supply chain and ensuring that all operations worked within the strict guidelines and procedures as defined by Sonatrach Management.

Material and Logistics Superintendent
In 1992 I was promoted to the position of Materials & Logistics Superintendent responsible for managing all areas of logistics, inventory, warehousing, and storage yards. The inventory at the time of my appointment totalled 110, 000 plus line items. My position included full responsibility for the annual Inventory checks, stock management, transport, logistics and supervision of all the teams including stock replenishment. During my time in this position, I initiated a complete stock review exercise to minimise stock holdings, reduce working capital tied up in stock and a complete redesign of all the warehouse layouts to maximise area usage, whilst ensuring safer working conditions at all times. This exercise was successfully completed and I then undertook an improvement exercise to standardise the existing Logistics operation. This was also successfully achieved to ensure a cost effective and safe Logistics operation, which included both local and international operations.

Instrumentation Supervisor
In the position of Instrumentation Supervisor leading a team of electronic engineers and technicians, I was responsible for the maintenance of all on-line and laboratory equipment, analysers and the different security systems such as smoke, gas and heat detection.

Following my graduation, I started my career with Sonatrach as Instrument engineer, learning my trade in different parts of the plant at Hassi R'mel where I have participated in ongoing maintenance work and planned shut downs.
