• Act as key Acted representative in the FSAS Core and National Committee meetings.
• Ensure external representation of Acted in Food Security and Livelihoods sector, vis-à-vis country and local authorities, other project stakeholders, donors, and partners.
• Participate in and report (internally) on Food Security and Livelihoods technical and sectoral meetings, clusters and working groups involving all relevant stakeholders such as donors, NGOs, UN Agencies, inter-governmental institutions.
• Ensure effective coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders and partners, i.e. NGOs, civil society organizations, community groups, and government counterparts who are working on Food Security and Livelihoods.
• Identify opportunities to collaborate and coordinate efforts with other organizations to ensure our activities build upon - rather than replicate - the work of others.
• Support the development and maintenance of a coherent Food Security and Livelihoods strategy across Acteds areas of intervention in Lebanon.
• Promote harmonization of approaches and methodologies across the different Food Security and Livelihoods projects by developing and monitoring use of common tools, as well as creating opportunities for experience sharing and learning.
• Brief Project Managers about main Food Security and Livelihoods issues and updating them on a regular basis.
• Collect and analyse primary and secondary data related to the Food Security and Livelihoods sector in Lebanon.
• Analyse the activities in the Food Security and Livelihoods sector and relevant stakeholders.
• Identify the needs of the most vulnerable populations through regular visits and literature review, and through the design and implementation of relevant needs assessments in close collaboration with the MEAL department.
• Work closely with the PD department in Food Security and Livelihoods project conceptualization workshops, provide technical inputs into proposal design, and ensure new or adapted projects for Climate Change and Environment.
• Prepare training materials related to the environment and climate change, including topics such as rainwater harvesting and climate-resilient crops.
• Collaborated with clients, architects, and engineers to grasp project requirements.
• Prepared site plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Combine independent research and collaborative delivery on projects.
• Promote sustainable farming practices that minimize environmental impact.
• Seek new agribusinesses research and implement them based on feasibility studies and value chain analyses.
• Guidance on choosing disease-resistant and high yielding crop varieties based on soil type, climate, and market demands.
• Soil management, fertilization schedules and advice on soil erosion prevention technics.
• Help farmers identify and monitor pests, diseases, and weeds, and suggest appropriate control measures.
• Assist farmer assessing water requirement, improving irrigation system and adopting water saving techniques.
• Provide training and educational programs to farmers and agricultural students.
• Actively sought new projects through marketing efforts and presentations.
