Highlights:
•Successfully seconded to Industry Partnership Project team that was involved with auditing Small to Medium size businesses (turnover less than $5 million), member of a team that successfully undertook prosecution against an individual and laying evasion charges.
•Chosen to be part of a National Quality Measurement Panel from Investigation and Advice Christchurch with the responsibility of reviewing all national audit cases and ensuring that quality and processes were followed as per National Quality guideline standards.
•Actively participated in National Recruits induction training programme, selected as a technical trainer for the new recruits to provide in-class training for topics including Goods and Services Tax (VAT), Companies and Partnership type of entities.
•Received a letter of appreciation from a Customer and Tax Agent for professionalism and fairness during the course of audit.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Audit
•Develop and implement a detailed audit program using generally accepted auditing principles and procedures, and apply various sampling techniques to effectively analyze financial records.
•Evaluate financial records of individuals and organizations using principles of accounting.
•Provide valuable recommendations on tax issues, filing tax returns, identifying fraud, making suggestions for improvement and checking compliance with tax regulations
•Provide taxpayer valuable assistance by responding to audit inquiries or information requests in person, written and telephone inquiries from taxpayers. Determine taxable income by examining financial books and records.
•Review, research and interpret laws and regulations to determine taxability of taxpayer's transactions. Conduct audits to ensure legal compliance, to establish tax liability or to clarify reports.
Operations
•Coordinate for complex compliance audit risk cases by effectively utilizing knowledge and experience in legislation and accounting principles.
•Involve in extensive technical research and solving critical issues to determine the best ways of approaching each individual.
•Conduct technical risks audit (including complex business structures or transactions, accounting systems, structured tax arrangements or aggressive evasion or fraud) by utilizing specialist knowledge in specific industry issues and sophisticated investigative techniques
•Provide ongoing training and mentoring assistance to new recruits and existing team members with regards to Goods and Services Tax (

I coordinated for cash handling, preparing various statements and managing the branch, coordinated with team for developing and preparing software for producing ledger, trial balance, financial statement and balance sheet. I also supervised and supported in preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly statements to Head office and State Bank of Pakistan and collaborated with internal and external auditors and rectified various audit queries. Prior to that, I worked as Liaison Officer in Afghan Refuges Organisation, Mianwali, Pakistan where I provided accurate and timely information regarding Afghan refugees to donor agencies which supported them in formulating their assistance programmes and coordinated for language interpretation needs due to my fluency in English, Urdu and Pashto. I also functioned as a translator for foreign visitors addressing Afghan refugees, English and Pashto, coordinated for Afghan Refugees’ social structure, food, health, education, sanitation and housing in order to design policy for refugees’ welfare.

•Supervised and monitored frontline staff ensuring prompt and courteous attention to client requests and queries, error free transactions ensuring consistent customer satisfaction.
•Communicated regularly with the staff and provided information and feedback for continual improvements in sales and service standards of the branch for enhanced customer experience.
•Coordinated with various internal departments of the bank in investigating customer complaints/issues and provided satisfactory solutions ensuring customer loyalty and retention.
