I am currently working as Senior Data Specialist on one of the biggest DWH revamp on behalf of IBM in which my responsibilities are;
• Defining and architecting ETL processes that will serve as a roadmap for all present and future developments in new EDW powered by IBM.
• Developing Source to Target mapping documents, System Requirements Specification documents, and Interface Design documents.
• Performing Reverse-engineering of legacy DWH solution for Revenue, Usage, Finance, and Product subject areas.
• Meeting with end-user collected requirements, and translating them into technical specifications.
• Creating Data Flow Charts from functional documents and customized Vodafone Group Data Model using SAP POWER Designer.
• Involve in meetings and answering technical and business-related questions of developers and testers.
I help develop and execute Information management strategy and Data standards within Ufone BI and Analytics Team. As ETL and Data Architect, I design and develop software required to extract, transform, and load data from the operational and business support systems into Enterprise Data Warehouse and Analytical Ecosystem. I develop robust end-to-end analytics solutions for Ufone technology, marketing, Customer Value Management, Sales, and Finance Teams. My other responsibilities include ongoing operational support, maintenance, and other analytics and information management. I have successfully migrated Data integration processes from the legacy ETL system to Informatica. I have successfully utilized Informatica core strengths to make it a core platform for all ETL processes in Ufone Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Working as Infosphere Datastage Lead Consultant on IBM Global Hardware/Software Project. HW/SW Currency Management System serves as IBM Standard Storage Management System that provides accounts with multiple benefits, the largest being a centralized repository to perform inventory tracking thereby eliminating the need for silo data. HW/SW Currency provides tracking and reporting of Engineering Change Announcements (ECAs), End of Life/Support (EOL/S), Firmware Posture, Call home status, as well as much more. Most recently this has evolved into a key tool for compliance inventory.
My Key responsibilities includes:
• Partner with internal teams and clients to provide technical leadership in order to develop solutions.
• Partner with internal teams and clients to architect the end-to-end development cycle.
• Designing Data Integration Processes in IBM DataStage and QualityStage
• Designing Data Visualization processes (Reports and Dashboards) in IBM Cognos
• Semantic layer designing and end-user business reporting
• Creating Prototypes including - creating storyline and data, populating 3NF with mock-up data
• Advance skills in writing SQL queries, views, and ETL performance optimization
• Functional, Unit, Performance Testing
• Adhoc Reporting for End-User.
As a Teradata Professional Services Consultant, I was responsible for:
• Lead architect in development, design, execution and implementation of complex Data Warehouse and BI projects.
• Analyse and deliver complex processes and look for means to continually improve efficiency.
• Architecting and development of methodology, best practices etc. to help clients.
• Working extensively with client(s) to understand their needs and processes, delivering tactical and strategic solutions to add value to their processes through business intelligence.
• Participate in guiding projects through full life-cycle, including performing technical management, guiding clients through the development cycle
• Gather and document client requirements and translate these into process and system architecture designs.
• Understand the client’s business goals, IT plans and architecture and articulate linkage to the proposed data warehouse architecture and application designs.
• Work with Teradata project managers to scope projects and develop statements of work, project plans, and risk analysis.
• Provide technical thought leadership and actively participate in the application design, implementation, and roll-out efforts.
• Data Integration/Mapping Consultant on behalf of Teradata.
• Responsible for the fork lifting of Customer Cares, Receivables & Billings and Settlement source systems from Oracle to Teradata Enterprise Communication Data Model deployed on Teradata Massively Parallel Processing System.
• Defining and Designing Data Integration layer for the EDW through High Performance Tools and Utilities.
• Using Teradata Migration Accelerator to understand and transform Oracle PL/SQL, Cursors and ETL routines into Teradata High Performance BTEQ Logic.
• Ensure timely Data availability from core Data Model to Semantic Data Model for business and marketing analytics teams.
• Determine data growth trends and peak business periods.
• Design the processes to meet service level agreements for data timeliness and frequency.
• Data reconciliation assurance and contingency planning in terms of adhoc requirements.
The Operational Data at Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar is placed in disparate locations (Oracle, SQL Server, Flat Files). It takes time when dealing with cross systems analysis. The approach I provided is to integrate, conform, clean data from those disparate source systems and keep it in a centralized platform dedicated and optimized for smart analytics and reporting purposes. This make it much easier and more efficient for adhoc and tactical analysis over the data that originally came from different sources.
