• Job description:

- Zone Manger (Senior QC/QA Engineer).

• Scope:

Construction work for:-
- Mixture Storage .
- Additives Storage ( Staker, Reclaimers 1&2, Additive storage and Separation walls)
- Cement Silos ( 4 silos).
- Iron Ore Crusher.

• Responsibilities:

-Development, maintenance and monitoring of implementation of project quality plan .
-Conduct first party audits and second party audits of subcontractors and suppliers (Madasi, Orascom Batch plant, …).
-Do, development, maintenance and monitoring of implementation of project inspection plan at zone.
-Expediting and review of sub-contractors’ and suppliers’ plans and procedures.
-Monitoring of document control system and overseeing the functioning of the process
-Review of quality record files.
-Management and development of quality control personnel.
-Provision of awareness training to the sector personnel concerning PQP, PIP, Work instructions and Method Statements.
-Determination of any adverse quality trends and taking requisite action, in conjunction with others as appropriate, to address issues arising at zone
-Review of NCRs and CARs and devising proposals to engender continuous improvement .
- Overseeing material compliance testing before using at zone.
- Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation in addition to project specifications.
-Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated in the sector.
-Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.

- Overseeing scheduling inspections of works to match progress at zone.
-Preparation of quality control daily, weekly and monthly reports for zone.

1- Review of shop drawings and ensures its compliance with designs, contract requirement and properly coordinated with other discipline.
2- Review the relevant As-Built drawings and make sure that all site conditions are properly addressed.
3- Review all contractor submittals addressing method statements, project quality Plan, schedules and compliance with project objective.
4- Inspection of the incoming project materials to ensure compliance with the contract specifications and to ascertain availability of all the required documents such as material certificates, certificate of compliance, certificate of origin etc.
5- Ensure quality of work is in compliance with contract requirements, good practice and only approved materials are used for achieving the following :
• Ammonia buildings and tanks, equipments and pipe racks foundations.
• Cooling towers, pump stations, plate heat exchangers and water treatment.
• Substations, Control building and cable trenches.
• Finishing works like masonry works, plaster, acid protection, painting... etc.
• Roof works like slope concrete, thermal insulation, humidity insulation...etc
• Infrastructures like Storm drain, fire fitting…etc.
• Paving, rood works.

6- Closely monitoring inspectors and engineers performance and make sure that all site inspections are carried out as per intervention points marked in the approved inspection and test plan
7- Attend weekly meetings as directed by project manager.
8- Review and initial monthly invoices and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
9- Participate in final inspection of work and preparation of Punch List.
10- Follow up defective work or material to ensure that it was corrected or removed according to specifications of project before commissioning.
