Working as Area Purchasing Manager, handling two resorts in Maldives, Soneva Fuhsi and Soneva Jani located in a different atoll.
Incharge of the daily operation of procurement and also handling various projects e.g.villa renovation, construction of new villas, kitchen expansion, airport runway repair and upgrading the facilities. Maintenance of speed boats engines, purchasing new engines.
Maintaining two Cessna flights, maintenance of Cessna engines, sending engines for overhauling in Canada.
Workers Village is a part of Al Barakah Group. This group is having various divisions:- Workers accommodation, Catering division, Laundry, Security etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:-

Tendering for perishable and non-perishable items
Part of negotiation committee for various contracts of Engineering, Laundry, Facility Management Designed Standard operating procedures for Procurement department
Part of Food safety team
URS is Certification Body offering value added services worldwide. URS is UK based certification body under UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) and also Accreditation from Dubai Accreditation Centre (DAC). URS services are available over 64 countries including USA, UK, Europe, Asia, Africa and Far East countries.

Joined as a Project Team member. Initial responsibility was to handle HEOS (Hotel Equipment and Operational Supplies) and FF&E. This project was completed in a phase manner (opening of 3 Hotels under one roof). This property comprises of 680 rooms with 19 Food & Beverage outlets and 3 lobby lounges.

Finalizing major contracts for Engineering (Boilers, Chiller plants, Swimming Pool maintenance, Air-conditioning, Landscaping) Manpower (short term manpower requirements for House-Keeping, Engineering Civil contracts, Valet Parking etc.), House-keeping & Laundry (HK & Laundry Chemicals, HK equipment’s, Staff Laundry, Pest Control)
Internal Auditor for SFSMS (Shangri-La’s Food Safety Management systems, HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Point), ISO 14001 - Environment Management System & OHSAS 18001 - Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series. Also part of core committee of all above programmes.
In Charge of Perishable & Non-perishables Tender committee to finalize all various tenders.

November 2004 I moved to open another property of Shangri-la in South part of India (Chennai) Called Traders Hotel, Chennai.
RESPONSIBILITIES :-
Finalizing the major F&B operating supplies order
Printing and Stationery for front / back of the house
Setting up Policies & Procedures for Purchasing dept. and Stores
Recruiting Staffs for Purchasing / Stores
Setting up Software package for Purchase & Inventory.
SONEVA FUSHI RESORT & SPA is one of the best luxury resorts in the Maldives. Winners of the Condenaste’ Traveler Award for the Best Leisure Resort in the world for the year 2000. The readers of the Harpers & Queen magazine in the UK also adjudged it the Best Beach Hideaway for the year 2002. June 1999 to May 2004.
RESPONSIBILITIES :-
Procurement of Perishable and non-perishable items.
Looking after imports, logistics of perishable and non-perishable items
Keeping abreast with the changes in the market wuth regards to technology, quality, cost effectiveness and new suppliers and their competitiveness.
Managing a smooth flow of communication with suppliers, shippers, customs, clearing agents and other transport and service providers.
Keeping the management updated with regard to market conditions, availability and delivery information.
Conducting Market surveys in Singapore, Sri Lanka & Mumbai.
Processing all information using the hotel software within an intranet.
