CBT AAA Project
Environment: Netcool/OMNIbus v7.2, Netcool/ISM v2.3, Netcool/Webtop v2.1, , SNMP
Trapd Probe, BMC Remedy
Description :
The mobile environment uses two separate sets of RADIUS AAA (authentication,
authorisation and accounting) services to support subscriber access to packet switched
services.
The CDMA AAA is built on Sun hardware and divided into two sets of servers: one set for
the Authentication and Authorisation, one set for the accounting.
On the XT network, the current WCDMA AAA was implemented on the new Alcatel-Lucent
8950 AAA platform for authentication and authorisation only. It has currently no
operational management tools nor performance reporting. Therefore capacity planning
capabilities are limited and will be important when the Call Barring Tree (CBT) is migrated to
it because of the increased load.
The purpose of this project is threefold:
* to support Telecom in reforming the CBT service;
* to provide a performance management solution for WCDMA AAA; and
* to assess and address support requirements to operate CDMA AAA until network
closure (April 2012)
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for Integrating Database (MYSQL) with Netcool ISM version 2.3.
* Responsible for Configuring the Radius monitor with 8950AAA servers.
* Responsible to make sure the availability of WCDMA 8950 AAA service to end-user
authentications.
* Responsible for sending Polls and getting response from 8950AAA servers.
* Responsible for configuration of data bridge using Tibco Rendezvous middleware.
* Responsible for sending data to Database from data bridge.
* Responsible for configuration of Object server with ISM.
* Responsible for sending the bad results in the form of alarms to Object server.
* Responsible for extracting the data in Database using scripts from Borg.
* Preparing the Functional and Technical Specifications of the ITSM requirements for
developing Crystal Reports and BO depending on the Requirement Specs Document.
* Has experience managing a implementation of the BMC Remedy ITSM Suite for large
Telecom NZ.
* Has significant experience facilitating the end-to-end implementation of the BMC
Remedy ITSM Suite, inline with organisations ITIL implementations.
