As a Consultant Family Physician/General Practitioner, I work across the three (3)
practice sites of the organization to apply my knowledge and skills in the provision of full range of medical services expected in a general practice setting, deliver the highest quality of ‘cradle to elderly’ care to a broad demographic patient population and contribute towards the development and implementation of practice development initiatives. I apply clinical knowledge and skills to analyze patients’ problems, perform relevant investigations where appropriate, and establish a shared management plan in the patients’ best interest. This has allowed me to develop a therapeutic relationship with my patients and their families and promote compliance and shared participation in a caring environment.

This role provides the opportunity to work as a Consultant Family Physician with multidisciplinary teams in various primary care settings within West
Midlands and Northwest regions of UK, to provide
highest standard of care to patients in line with NICE guidelines and local protocols.

As a General Practitioner/Family Physician, I work across the practice sites of the medical group to provide full range of general medical services and the associated administrative responsibilities related to the position. I apply clinical skills and methods appropriate to primary care settings to analyze patients’ problems, request relevant investigations where appropriate, and establish a shared management plan in the patients’ best interest. This has allowed me to develop a therapeutic relationship with my patients and promote compliance in a caring environment. My working knowledge of Systemic One, EMIS, Docman and accuRx, coupled with my excellent verbal and written communication skills, have enabled me to conduct safe and efficient remote and face-to-face consultations and make effective decisions that allow for the provision of the highest quality of care to our patients. Whilst I can make autonomous professional decisions to manage medically complex patients within primary settings, I am able recognize when the input of other specialists is required to ensure timely provision of optimal care and improve treatment outcomes. I also contribute towards achieving the aims of the practices in the areas of clinical governance, quality improvement, medicines management initiatives and other improvement plans as deemed appropriate by the team.

This is a 3-year training in family medicine/general
practice based in Stoke-on-Trent with rotations in hospitals (University Hospital of North Midlands and North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust) and primary care settings (Madeley Practice, Well Street Medical Centre and Goldenhill Medical Centre)

As an ST3 doctor, I worked with the medical and nursing staff and other health professionals to provide initial management and care of patients in all aspects of Accident and Emergency Medicine especially those with major illness and critically ill and injured patients in the resuscitation room. Working with the Consultants and other colleagues, I provided immediate support, supervision and advice to the ST1/2 and foundation doctors on the provision of prompt, efficient and effective care to patients who attend the department, with care taken to ensure adherence to the department’s established protocols and policies and relevant NICE guidelines.

As an ST1/2, my duties include initial assessment and management of patients in all aspects of Accident and Emergency Medicine including major illness and minor injuries, treatment of critically ill and injured patients in the resuscitation room.

As the Regional Manager for northern Nigeria, I supported CHAI’s seven northern states and national technical staff to develop and implement evidence-based, technically sound strategies and operational plans for essential medicines programmes and co-ordinated the implementation of all maternal and child health program activities in CHAI supported states in the region. I was able to establish and reinforce strong collaborative relationships with state stakeholders, oversee administrative and programme activities of all of CHAI’s northern Nigeria state offices, supported recruitment and mentoring of high-quality state teams and coordinated support from global technical staff to facilitate program success in Nigeria. Additionally, I was able to work closely with CHAI’s Global Teams to support the implementation of malaria programme in Zambia and essential childhood medicines programme in other CHAI supported countries. My attendance of global team meetings provided an ample opportunity to learn evidence-based global best practices and share lessons learnt that shaped the design and implementation of programmes in Nigeria.
