I was responsible for managing the USD 300K New Business portfolio at Nielsen. My responsibilities included provision of research consultancy services to my clients, and managing projects and client relationships in a manner that ensured growth in the overall New Business portfolio.
I was managing the following accounts: Tetra Pak Pakistan, Warid Telecom, Pak Arab Fertilizers, Servis Corporation, Beaconhouse School System, Red Bull Pakistan, METRO Cash & Carry and Mayfair.
Responsible for managing the overall University of Southern Queensland postgraduate and undergraduate academic operations. Provided consultancy and training services to MDi's executive training operations and developed and conducted programs for corporate clients across Pakistan.
Responsible for:
1. identifying, arranging and supervising permanent / visiting faculty
2. devising effective delivery mechanisms for prescribed course material
3. producing and operating semester plans and faculty scheduling
4. reviewing conformance to academic standards and maintaining interface with appropriate regulatory authorities such as HEC
5. providing guidance and counsel to students, parents and stakeholders
6. organizing and conducting talks and seminars
7. liaising with Informatics Singapore and University of Southern Queensland, Australia on program operation
8. supervising the marketing of the undergraduate program to schools and public in general
9. identifying and assessing new programs and offerings that can aid in business expansion
Responsible for:
- managing editorial and marketing personnel
- organizing and conducting training programs for new as well as existing recruits in several areas including graphic designing, presentation skills and project management
- formulating marketing research methodologies and supervising research projects and trainees
- conducting monthly performance appraisal sessions and processing performance statistics to generate detailed performance reports and forecasts
- formulating appropriate marketing strategies for the company's educational textbooks and supervising sales executives to achieve company sales objectives
Completed the MBA program with an overall distinction on both coursework and dissertation. MBA Thesis (30K words): Consumer Decision Behaviour in Cultural Context The study was an attempt to statistically model consumer decision behaviour focusing specifically on Pakistani undergraduate business students. The research question involved several themes, such as the issue of 'brain drain' in Pakistan and conducting attitude research in a collectivist culture. The study was inspired by Icek Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behaviour, which was deployed to evaluate attitudes, normative influences and control beliefs that contributed most to students' decisions to study from a foreign university. The study has been awarded the Neville Gaunt Prize for best dissertation by the University of Wales, Cardiff. AWARDS RECEIVED Student of the Year Issued on/by: Jun 2006 / University of Wales The Student of the Year title is awarded to one MBA student per year and recognizes academic achievement and commitment of the candidate. The student must clear the MBA with a clear distinction on both taught as well as research component of the degree program. I was honoured with this award in 2006. Neville Gaunt Prize Issued on/by: Jun 2006 / University of Wales The Neville Gaunt Prize is awarded to the best dissertation of the year. The MBA dissertation is a 30,000 word intellectual piece of work and requires at least 1-year to complete. One student is selected per academic year to receive this award. I was honoured with the Neville Gaunt Prize in 2006.
Completed the Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (UCLES, UK) Major Subjects: Business/Marketing The ADBA (Advanced Diploma in Business Administration) is offered by Informatics Singapore and is validated by University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES). It is considered equivalent to studying 2-years on a UK undergraduate business degree.
