● Conducted various Concrete Mix Designs and Asphalt Mix Designs Trials and follow up.
● Checking Polishing characteristics of aggregates and Slake durability of weak aggregate
●.Receive samples from different projects and follow up their tests at Central Laboratory. Checks and verifies that the results are in accordance with relevant document (AASHTO, ASTM, BS Specifications).
● Checked and recommends the purchase of proper Laboratory equipments, apparatus, tools and monitored the proper handling of equipments.
● Follow up and insured the calibration and maintenance of measuring and Laboratory equipments.
● Prepared and maintained quality reporting papers related to test results.
● Four phase Quality Control Inspection for definable Feature of Work.

During this period I was responsible for identification & selection of borrow areas and stone metal quarries, collection of samples from new alignment, existing road, borrow areas and stone metal quarries for the laboratory tests for Soil ( Natural Moisture Content, Grain Size Analysis, Atterberg’s Limits, Free Swell, Permeability, Specific Gravity, Un-Consolidated-Undrained (UU) and Consolidated-Undrained (CU) Triaxial Shear Test, Unconfined Copmressive Strength, Modified and Standard Proctor test, Soaked CBR at three energy levels), Coarse Aggregate (Unit weight, Gradation, Specific gravity and Water absorption percent, Flakiness and Elongation index, Aggregate impact value, Aggregate Crushing value, Ten Percent Fines value, Los Angeles Abrasion test, Soundness test, coating and Stripping value of aggregates), Fine Aggregate (Grading, Fineness Modulus, Organic impurity, Lightweigt pieces in aggregate, Silt & Clay Content, Sand equivalent, Specific gravity and Water absorption, Soundness and Mortar strength, Rock (Point load and Compressive strength), Cement (Consistency, initial and final setting time, Soundness and compressive strength), Bitumen (penetration, softening point, ductility, flash and fire point, Viscosity, Solubility, Thin Film Oven, Water in Petroleum Product and Bitumen extraction; Test on different grade of cutback Asphalt; Concrete and Bituminous mix design; Analysis and recording of data on prescribed proformas, Field test comprised of checking strength of existing sub grade layer, with Dynamic Cone Penetrometer, determination of field density by Sand replacement method/Core Cutter and checking moisture content by Speedy moisture meter. Responsible for carrying out Soil and Material investigations and Laboratory Testing for a number of highway projects which include:
Project Description: Construction supervision four laning of NH-2, Package IV D Ch. 400+000 to 440+000(Barun to Raniganj) in Bihar, India. It is World Bank funded project. It consists of 6 major & 8 minor Bridges and one flyover & one Railway over Bridge.
Type of Pavement : Rigid Pavement (PQC)
Client : National Highway Authority of India
Was responsible for taking initial levels of existing ground surface, centre line fixing, curve setting, preparation of level sheets and other survey works.
Machinery Used : (i) Liebherr Concrete Batching Plant (Capacity-120m3/hrs)
(ii) Writgen Paver 8.5 m width paving capacity (German Make)
Task assignment:
Assist the Material Engineer with setting up of field laboratory.
Monitor Contractors Construction Method & adherence to environmental norms.
Review and acceptance of quarry site for aggregates, quarry spell, sand, borrow materials etc.
Review and acceptance of test results for manufactured materials such as Steel, Cement, Bitumen, Admixture, water-curing compound etc.
Supervise all the tests to be done in different stage of construction, besides ensuring the specified tests are as per stipulated codes.
Maintain record of all materials at site & revised the contractors procurement schedule & assist the Material Engineer in issuance of instruction to the contractor for correcting the same if deemed necessary.
