Job Profile:
Provides a professional leadership and control to a team of structural
engineers in preparing engineering calculations and shop drawings
Liaises with project team leader and other disciplines such as architectural,
HVAC, mechanical, electrical through a BIM model to ensure a consistent
design output.
Reports directly to project team leader and engineering manager
Carries out the structural analysis of complicated steel, concrete and timber
structures using governing codes of practice ACI, AISC, IBC, EC, BS and AS/NZ,
standard practices, engineering judgment and experience.
Numerical simulation/finite element modeling of complicated irregular shape
structures subjected to seismic and wind actions by using general purpose
finite element software as STAAD Pro, SAP2000 and ETABS
Carries out site visits and does QA/QC chec
Research Dissertation: Numerical Simulation of PT Self-Centered Steel Moment Resisting Frame Subjected to extreme earthquake loads. Courses Studied: Earthquake Engineering, Stability and Dynamics of Structures (Direct Stiffness Method), indeterminate structures and plastic analysis of frames, Risk, Safety and Reliability, Non-Linear Finite Element and Stress analysis, Continuum Mechanics, Ground Engineering, Advnced Foundation Engineering, Advanced Concrete and Steel Design
