ASTAD Project Management delivers prominent iconic buildings and facilities in Qatar and around the world, with contracts worth over 30 Billion US Dollars. Some of the key projects delivered and in progress are the Qatar Foundation Education City, Qatar Petroleum District, National Museam of Qatar and the World Cup 2022 Stadiums.

• Responsible for obtaining business approval and the complete project management of the data center infrastructure migration from a fully outsourced model to an in-house IT infrastructure with a resultant cost saving to the business of 8.1 million Qatar Riyal per annum.

• Proposed and implemented the Managed Print Solution across all ASTAD sites, resulting in a cost saving of 2.3M Qatar Riyal over 3 years

• Managed the "build" activities of all IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, network planning and design to maintain a scalable, agile IT infrastructure that meets operational and capacity requirement

• Established an IT Disaster Recovery Plan and managed the implementation of a Disaster Recovery site enabling a 4 hour RTO to the business for key services.

• People Management of team across Qatar (12 direct reports)

• Responsible for procurement of all IT equipment across GCC

• Responsible for management of all IT infrastructure / operational requirements for deployment and ongoing support of enterprise Oracle ERP system

• Implemented ITIL across all IT Services, ensuring best practises are adhered to and establishing the Change Advisory Board with clear reporting on Problem & Incident Management, which attributed to improving our SLA delivery from 71% to >94%.

• Monitoring and reporting on the performance of IT services to the IT Director based on service delivery established standards

• Manage troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary

• Responsible for developing the annual IT budget and ensuring strict control

• Participate in IT strategy formulation and provide inputs regarding requirements to facilitate current and future business needs

• Managed Project Site office openings across Qatar and GCC with direct leadership of IT implementation, reducing the dependency for outside contractor groups

• Conduct periodic performance monitoring meetings and reviews with the IT Director and Senior Management as relevant to update the status of IT projects, systems and network availability, IT performance and concerns with respect to IT service delivery and support

Philips Electronics Australia is the local division of Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands, one of the world's biggest electronics companies and a global leader in healthcare, lighting and consumer lifestyle,

Part of the Philips Electronics ANZ Country leadership team with direct reports into the Asia Pacific Cluster IT Director (based in Singapore) . Key accountability is given for IT infrastructure planning, strategy, budget controls, HP outsource agreement, vendor management, SLA's, incident management, project management, ITIL, and staff management.

• Directed the IT roadmap and strategy that supports a user network of 800+ staff across Australia & New Zealand in a Windows environment, ensuring strategy is aligned with by local and global business needs.

• Ensured local teams have the tools and technology capability needed to drive market competitiveness.

• Drove the consolidation of individual IT units (previously Philips Electronics had an individual IT division for Healthcare / Lighting / R&D / Consumer Lifestyle), and lead the transition and amalgamation of all units into a global outsource model without impact to BAU.

• Attended key leadership meetings with the CEO, Business General Managers, Head of Human Resources, and Asia Pac strategy meetings with Asia Pacific Regional IT Director (based in Singapore)

• Delivered key cost savings against budget ($5M 2010/2011) with upwards of 33% reduction in telecommunication vendor contracts, whilst leading “go green” initiatives and significantly reducing printer dependence and costs by in excess of $1.3M across AU/NZ.

• Led high severity incident management escalations for the ANZ region.

• ITIL Champion for APAC region, achieving a robust technology platform for business needs.

• Project Managed the deployment of global / regional projects (Data Centre Optimisation / One Print solution).

• Oversaw the SLA’s behind the IBM outsourcing agreement (data centre, service desk, 30+ servers) valued in excess of $750k, and was the Regional Project Manager for the transition of agreement to new vendors, HP.

• Reduced the number of Philips Electronics IT staff in accordance with transition of contract to outsourcing agreement, with responsibility for overseeing IBM Help Desk & Support Desk (14 staff) and a telephone Helpdesk Team based offshore in Vietnam (6 staff).

• Responsible for developing the regional AOP and ensuring budget control ~ in particular hardware asset budget for APAC (15 million Euro)

• Accountable for the Hardware Asset Management Organisation in APAC

• Responsible for the budget (RoFo / AOP / Actuals / Charging)

• Responsible for setting the Hardware Asset Management team objectives and strategy for the region

WHK Horwath is an association of independent accounting practices in Australia operating across nine locations in major business centres in Australia with 80 partners/directors and 560 staff and ranked 8th in the BRW Australia's largest accountancy firms.

• Appointed to drive the WHK Horwath IT strategy and policy which spans a network of practices across Australia. The business operates predominantly in a Windows based environment with a data centre (DC) hosted in Sydney head office supporting all users in AU. Servers were HP with a Citrix environment and document management system, Windows 2008/Exchange 2003 main platform and Citrix ZenServer.

• Ensured ICT infrastructure and service environment met with the demands placed on this aggressively growing network of practices that grew through business acquisition.

• Challenged with rebuilding an ageing infrastructure which was running at less than 80% uptime, leading the implementation of ITIL across all IT Services, restructuring an IT budget of $1.3M and leading significant change across IT architecture which ultimately returned a 99.8% uptime.

• Led a series of projects to rebuild architecture and services, presenting business cases to the WHK executive committee, and leading the project rollout thereafter. This included:
o Migration of WHK staff to a Citrix farm;
o Implementation of Blackberry enterprise server;
o Implementation of remote uptime management tools;
o Introduction of a new document management system.

• Supported Senior Management on IT planning, analysed information needs of the organization, and planned and formulated the IS policy to meet the current and future needs of the business.

• Oversaw the procurement of IT equipment and services needed across the business.

• Controlled security and disaster recovery (DR) planning.

• Up skilled an IT team of six (6) across Helpdesk and desktop support, DBA and a Network Administrator, transitioning an unacceptable 58% SLA score to >91%, with IT soon being recognised as a true business partner and value-add service delivery function.

Reported to the Country CFO with responsibility for managing and administering ICT infrastructure and supporting processes including business critical applications and systems, networks, LAN/WAN, Windows servers, distributed services, fixed and mobile devices.

• Directed the ICT infrastructure program that was responsible for driving, managing and delivering a platform that met with corporate vision and dynamic growth.

• Project managed the roadmap, strategy and integration of a newly acquired business (M&A) which saw Epicor software double their staff numbers to 400+ FTE's and required that the two newly formed businesses be integrated within a tight deadline of just three (3) weeks.

• Led a $110k server room expansion following acquisition, and further held responsibility for the management and fiscal activity behind an $850k IT&T annual budget.

• Formed part of a global US$18Mil project team who were challenged with rolling out VoIP globally with personal responsibility for driving the project across US, UK and APAC.

• Awarded with the "Global Epicor Software Excellence "award.

• Provided leadership to a team of 5 staff from 1st to 3rd level system and network support.
