Monitoring and managing vessel's performance on a daily basis and take necessary remedial actions when required; manage all technical matters ensuring that maintenance is properly planned and record keeping is carried out in the PMS; ensure that vessels are complying with ISM/ISO/ISPS requirements; attending sea trial and carry out delivery of new builds; handling of guarantee claims with regards to new buildings by liaising with Ship yard, vessels, owners, work shops and makers; carry out inspections, preparing docking specification; analyzing quotations for spares and stores, repairs and services, select appropriate vendor/contractor, approving purchase orders; analyze and plan financial year budget for vessels; submission of inspection & repair reports as well as keeping track of ship's certifications etc. initiate innovations, savings and improvements within the area of responsibility
Chief Engineer on dredger:
Technical layouts, information, daily operation and maintenance for: Main Engines, Aux.Engines, Cranes, Auxiliary machinery, Deck machinery, Electrical installations, Dredging equipment, Bunkering.
Superintendent Amos:
Maintain and update jobs and frequencies;
Supervise in the daily monitoring the PMS;
Set up preventive maintenance schedules of critical equipment on board of the vessels;
Ascertain that the maintenance of equipment complies with all legal requirement and safety standards issued by IMO, flag states, classification agencies, Jan De Nul or other relevant bodies;
Standardize preventive maintenance schedules where possible;
Define the administration to be done on board to preserve maintenance history;
Assist the Technical Superintendent in monitoring and control of the execution and administration of preventive / corrective maintenance on board;
Promote full and correct administration of maintenance tasks performed by crew;
Supply technical support for the Planned Maintenance System to the Vessel Management Teams and office;
Have an open eye for new maintenance concepts and investigate their potential use.
Implement, maintain and modify the PMS and spare part system (Amos Data Base). Develop Amos Data Base according to SFI system for new buildings (pitch tankers and flex-max III bulk carriers).
Supervise and assist Fleet Manager and Superintendents in the daily monitoring the PMS as may be required/directed.
Perform training of ships and office staff in use of PMS.
Provide support for users on board vessel and in office.
Log all support/request in PMS group help desk system.
Maintain and update equipment list in PMS after input from vessel and Technical department.
Maintain and update jobs and frequencies after input from Technical department.
