Liaise with clients and guests to ascertain their precise event requirements.
Provide leadership, professional expertise and direction in the planning and execution of high quality events and functions at the university.
Coordinate all details with hotels, travel agencies, and different suppliers pertaining to events.
Oversee the planning and coordination of all functions to establish standards of performance and customer service for the Hospitality Services Department.
Identify, facilitate and participate in the discussion and decision-making regarding strategies, opportunities, potential conflicts and other issues related to the successful production of events.
Recruit, interview and select employees. Assess employees’ job performance, evaluate conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action. Discuss job performance with employees to identify any problem and work on resolving it.
Monitor departmental budgets and review financial transactions in order to ensure expenditures are authorized and budgeted according to the university’s policies and procedures.
