• Managing the day to day operations of the Health, Safety and Environment department. I am responsible for the operational management, with regard to health, safety and the environment of all the activities being carried out by VINCI PLC in the UK and abroad (Turnover £1.5 billion)

• Recruitment of professional advisers and then developing the team, through the identification of training needs.
• Integrating new companies into the VINCI business e.g. Taylor Woodrow
• Managing an Occupational Health Manager, highlighting areas for further attention within the business.
• Creating a positive approach to accident prevention, the health of all employees and other persons likely to be affected by the works and the protection of the environment by installing culture within the business.
• Initiating and maintaining positive measures to raise health, safety and environmental protection standards in line with the Directors targets, for example behavioural training initiatives. (STEP UP Campaign)
Achievements
• In 2011 the Accident frequency rate has decreased by 47% following a series of measures introduced during the year.
• Operational HSE management of £1.5bn multi stream business over many years.
• Oversaw the integration of VINCI HS&E systems into Taylor Woodrow.
• Introduced Behavioural Safety programme into VINCI in 2007 and have continued and expanded the scope.
• Providing whole business both leading and lagging performance measurement with business information software.
• Won a VINCI Innovation award for 'STEP UP'
• Consulted by HSE on HS (G) 168 Fire Safety in Construction rewrite and Policy on Construction Dust.
