Job Responsibilities
• Checking the pricing and availability of the products from right sources
• Make sure to get the right specification that meets users’ needs
• Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided
• Try to close all the orders within the budget and company payment terms
• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items, obtaining approval from requisitioning department
• Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers, monitoring and expediting orders
• Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered, resolves shipments in error with suppliers
• Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation and submits final invoice to the finance and accounts department
• Keep informed of current developments in the field of purchasing, prices, market conditions and new products
• Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time & best prices and ensure all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectation
• Maintain the vendors list and other records for the efficient operations
