I joined Riyadh Metro Project with Bechtel who are acting as main Contractor along with CCC, Al Mabani and Siemens (BACS Consortium) on construction of Riyadh Metro.
Initially I worked in the management role developing the Health and Safety Procedure, Execution Plan, Emergency Management Plan etc. In mid of March I was full time to Riyadh Metro to manage HSE for Line-1 Package. Line 1 extends over a length of approximately 38 km (24 mile) and features 22 stations, in addition to 4 transfer stations with Lines 2, 3, 5, and 4&6. Line -1 Metro will be mostly underground in a bored tunnel. The overall budget for the metro is €16•3bn, making it one of the world's largest public infrastructure. Bechtel consortium contract is valued at US$9•45bn.

My job responsibility was to manage health and safety and provided professional advice, guidance and support to the construction and led a team of safety advisors on day to day activities. Identify unsafe practices and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions. Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the location leadership to drive continuous HSE improvement across the location. Monitoring work practices utilized by Construction and/or other contractors/subcontractors to ensure compliance to project H&S Requirements.

I am managing a 10 no’s of safety team and carried out regular monitoring of the site via inspections and audits in order to ensure compliance with the safety management system. I was the principal person who undertook accident investigations (formal and informal) and produced the relevant reports along with necessary corrective actions.

I Joined Bechtel as an H&S Specialist on Khalifa Port Industrial Zone Project (KPIZ) in Abu Dhabi where Bechtel was employed as the Project Management Consultant.
Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone (KPIZ) is a AED20 billion project designed as a multi-purpose facility that involves the construction of a world-scale container and industrial port in addition to the development of over 100 square kilometres of industrial, logistics, commercial, educational, and residential special economic and free zones.
Key construction activities includes the construction of dual 2 lane dual carriageway roads, hot metal road, arterial roads, 33kv & 11kv substations, 16 metre deep pumping stations along with the associated utility corridors. All underground structures for utilities, pumping stations, storage and discharge facilities, electrical facilities, valve pits and manholes, horizontal direction drilling for laying electrical cable Potable water line, ground water line, combined waste water networks associated earthworks and concrete works, tie-in to the primary network and testing and commissioning.
My job responsibility was to manage health and safety for infrastructure contracts with a value of approximately AED600 million and its peak there will be in excess of 4500 personnel on these two contracts. Oversee of Construction Safety Program for Link in order to promote and ensure safety and safe work practices at construction sites, assists with the on-site monitoring of construction sites for safety, health and security inspections.
Work involves interfacing with the contractors, monitoring their activities, developed and delivered safety training such as People based safety program which proves proactive and positive reinforcing process to maintain good health and safety management system. Involved in Bechtel corporate health, Safety and environmental audit program. Organising meeting, reviewing and approving documentation, reporting and providing advice guidance and support to the Client, PMC and Contractors. Ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.

I was assigned as a H&S Engineer on the QR 4.5 million Al Shaqab Equestrian Club Project in Doha, Qatar. During this time I developed procedure, training module, safe work method statements along with a Safety Handbook and emergency procedures in the workforce language.
Highlights of the contract include construction of an arena, stables and veterinary hospital. Earthworks including, site clearance, grubbing, excavations, cutting, filling, compaction, grading, removal of existing surcharge and monitoring equipment and transportation of fill material to / from the site, as required. Buildings including above-ground pumping station, electrical substations, site works, utilities, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, electrical systems, fire alarm, telecommunication and control systems Permanent roads including associated infrastructure, associated foundations, electrical conduits and electrical systems.
My job responsibility involved to organize safety meetings and produced weekly and monthly reports for H&S Manager. I also developed and presented required training courses to the workforce in order to increase their awareness and ensure competent persons were available to carry out safety critical duties.
I carried out regular monitoring of the site via inspections and audits in order to ensure compliance with the safety management system. I am responsible person who undertook accident investigations and produced the relevant reports along with necessary corrective actions and submit to client.

The project had a multi-cultural workforce with more than 1750 staff and workers.

I was assigned as HSE Engineer and was responsible for all health, safety and environmental issues within project that included Construction of G+42 residential tower .A key aspect of the role was to monitor health and safety Standard that needed improvement and setting realistic targets.
I reported directly to the Project manager and as a member of the Safety management team, reported on HSEQ matters at the monthly HSE meetings.
I provided safety advice, guidance and support to the construction team on day to day activities and managed and led a team of Safety advisors. During my time with HMR I was responsible for all Training, Permit to work system, Proactive monitoring of health and safety Standard. I introduced a system of daily STARRT meetings and permit to work for all hazardous activities on project in order to monitor and improve compliance with HSEQ issues.

I was the HSE Advisor and was responsible on health and safety matter. My responsibility was to establish a high level of safety awareness through training, communication and weekly briefings in order to raise awareness. To inspect crew safety conditions and monitor for unsafe behaviour in order to ensure the number of incidents are continuingly reduced.
I reported directly to company safety manager on day to day activities.

Other duties included supporting the company safety managers on accident investigations, the monitoring of permit to work system as the work involved power generation where strict permit to work systems were needed. I worked as the Health and Safety Advisor reporting to Project Safety Manager. My job responsibility was to deliver training courses on safe use of piling rigs and vibro hammers. Correct method used for drilling and installing of casing for concrete work. Regular inspection of all Piling equipment and defects noted will be removed for job site until it is fit for work. I also undertook site safety inspection with construction team and advice upon any non-compliance finding for rectification.
