• Organising and planning daily operations for 24hr operations of dive staff and vessel activities to comply with the contractual and legislative requirements.
• Managing and monitoring safety compliance of projects, ensuring compliancy with local legal health and safety requirements.
• Review and update policy documents in line with current directives. Oversee and work on all marine related project and enquiries.
• Responsible for project safety and organise the delivery of risk assessment, management training development courses all employees.

Crew Manager & Legislation Officer à Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Service

• Responsible for crew of six and worked on an emergency appliance in the Glasgow area. Worked at several stations in the city area along the Clyde estuary; some of these are specialty stations tasked with water rescue utilising PWC jet craft and fast response boats.
• Seconded to act as a Legislation Officer in 2005, undertaking building and licensing inspections, assisting businesses to conform to the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005.
• Handled enquiries from other local authorities such as building control, planning, social services, environment agency, HSE and the police. Advised on safety issues and risk assessments for public and employee welfare. Appointed fire service legislation officer and had warrant that enabled entry to industrial premises to ensure compliance with fire regulations; failure of compliance required invoking of improvement or prohibition notices.

• Started career as a fire-fighter and progressed through the ranks to crew management and worked in the Leeds and Bradford area. Seconded to the Fire Safety College as an instructor and instructed on basic training courses and advanced courses such as incident management, rope access, confined space rescue, risk assessment, legislation, Health & Safety, hazardous chemicals, transport and casualty care.
• As operational crew manager conducted daily fire safety inspection on range of different types of premises to assist with compliance with health and safety legislation and Fire Act law. This involved a considerable amount of public interaction and fire safety training advice.
• Mobilised to several large incidents, which developed leadership skills, worked across a host of incident types and worked with many other agencies.
