Corporate Materials Manager for Worldwide Projects
Senior Quality Control Engineer in the supervision of the project “ 95.000 m3 liquefied natural gas storage tank (L.N.G)”, located on the islet of Revithousa in Megara gulf, Attica, Greece:
• Inspection and verification of project’s quality management system implementation
• Review and approval of project’s quality plan and works method statement
• Inspection and verification of project’s embedded materials (Normal and cryogenic concrete, shotcrete, normal and cryogenic reinforcement, F.P.S bearings, prestressed steel cables, rock and soil anchors, epoxy resins, special mortars, filling & repairing materials, asphalt)
• Inspection and verification of in situ tests on: cement, aggregates, water, normal and cryogenic concrete, shotcrete, grouting, rock and soil anchors, post tensioning and soil materials
• Inspection and verification of tests performed in England, Belgium and Luxemburg on cryogenic concrete, cryogenic reinforcement and cryogenic steel cables
• Inspection and verification of calibration procedures concerning : Site’s batching plants weighting devices, site’s laboratory devices and hydraulic tensioning jacks
• Control and approval of mix design concerning normal and cryogenic concrete, perlite-concrete, grouting and special mortars.
• In situ supervision of project’s construction works concerning concrete works (mixing, transportation, pouring, handling, sampling and curing), grouting activities, concrete prestressing works, rock anchoring, soil backfilling for retaining walls and roads, waterproof membranes application and remedial works.
Construction of Elefsina - Korinthos - Patra - Pyrgos - Tsakona (E.K.P.P.T) motorway:
• Preparation, review and update Project’s quality plan & Project’s specific procedures and monitor their implementation on work sites
• Responsible for the management of Project’s quality records documentation
• Responsible for the management of materials quality and laboratories activities (materials approval, sampling, testing, documentation, etc)
• Analyze detected non-conformance and involve in the proposal, implementation and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
• Review all execution documents (works method statements, inspection and test schedules, etc)
• Randomly check before and during execution, that work is carried out with documents to their latest revision (drawings, method statements, etc).
• Preparation of quality, environment and safety audits schedule, participation in relevant audits and issue of audit reports
• Responsible of issuing improvement proposals regarding Q.E.S system
• Organize and perform the necessary training program for work site personnel
• Responsible for the compilation of Projects’ quality records before the final hand-over.
• Monitoring of the implementation of Project’s safety and environmental plan & procedures
• Coordination with third parties on quality, health and safety issues
• Responsible for carrying out the risk assessment for the activities of the Project

2. in the project management of “Marousi Olympic Media Village - Athens 2004” construction:
• a shopping and leisure centre “The Mall Athens” (150.000m2)
• a residential complex of 241 apartments in 20 blocks “ILIDA” (50.000m2)

• an underground passage through existing railroad lines (Neratziotisa station)
Ministry's technical consultant regarding the guidance and supervision of Ministry’s contractor for public works quality control verification, called “ESPEL”.
“ESPEL” is Ministry’s special consultant for verifying, by in situ inspections / audits, the quality control level of Projects construction (mainly Public Works infrastructures: highways, airports, seaports, hospitals, schools, railway network, etc) been financed by the European Committee, during the 2nd Community Support Framework (CSF 1994 - 1999) and the 3rd Community Support Framework (CSF 2000 - 2006).
• Inspection and control of “ESPEL” contractual activities
• In situ inspection of “ESPEL” site activities (auditing, planning, sampling and testing on Greek public infrastructure projects)
• Evaluation of “ESPEL” technical reports addressed to Ministry of Economy and Economics
• Technical assistance to the “Ministry of Public Works / Body of Public Works Inspectors”
• Technical assistance to the inspected / audited Project’s Hellenic authorities (Owner, contract authority, supervision authority, etc)

Laboratory engineer, member of a research project regarding damages occurred in centrifuged concrete poles of electricity transmission lines. The scope of the project is to investigate the actual causes of damages, evaluate and develop new methods for repairing and maintenance.
Performance of laboratory tests on: cement, aggregates, concrete and soil materials according to Hellenic and International Standards (ΕLOT, ASTM, AASHTO, DIN, BS).
Development and performance of concrete mix designs for normal and special concretes.
