Procurement & SCM

continuous communication with global forwarders and customs clearance agents
• Gained functional knowledge of SAP MM module for over 3 years; worked as a part of a 7 member team to analyse
and to improve the existing SAP system
EPC: Operations & Projects: Procurement for projects, CAPEX purchase and miscellaneous purchase (Mechanical & electrical, eg: 220 Kv substation project procurement- Transformer, circuit breaker, PLCC, isolators, bus bar, arrestors Furnace, Compressors, fans, Conveyor systems, Pipes etc.,
RFQ, RFI, RFP, PO& payment advices, coordinating for opening LC’s and coordinating with stores to reduce transportation and storage costs, and accounts for other documentation works. Costing analysis. Material procurement coordination. Responsible for inbound logistics to ensure minimize the time and cost and ensure speedy delivery of materials to the respective departments. Supply Management, Hands on experience on SAP MM, logistics. Coordinating with Accounts for customs clearance and EPCG licence.
Handling of Air / Sea Port Cargo. Minimizing logistics costs and time for global procurement through transportation mode selection. Dealing with Global vendors. Check transport, demurrage/despatch and other logistic related issues. Handling Inland transportation systems.
Finding the new sources of material to reduce cost. Finding alternate vendors for better negotiation power. Analysing the price trend of metals and its implications on costing. Search, select, qualify and propose the most competitive suppliers for technical goods, in order to reach the Unit’s targets.
Vendor development for maintaining long term relations. Preparing master vendor file and continuously improving it. Development and utilization of benchmarking methodologies for supplier selection, development and sourcing maturity assessments.
Handled the Operational & Project procurement for Central maintenance department, at commercial department of JSW Steel ltd.
Inventory management and demand planning for the maintenance and project items for the central maintenance department and ensure timely procurement of these materials.
Tracking the lead time and alternate vendors for materials to ensure better control over the inventory.
Understanding the needs of various clients (Departments) and providing them support in terms of vendor selection, equipment selections and carrying out the entire ACVS projects .Prepare the cost Analysis of the project.
