• Provide initial assessment of urgency and business impact on all support calls, prioritize work accordingly and ensure minimal impact to the successful day to day operation of EPGs business.
• Provide desktop/laptop support remotely and/or on site as necessary.
• Provide investigation, diagnosis resolution and recovery for all hardware/software problems. If unable to resolve escalate to second or third level authorities.
• Maintain log of user’s issue and service ensuring that they receive resolution within a reasonable timeframe, and provide regular reporting to EPG management.
As part of the IT technical support team assist in:
• software installations, computer setup, system and software upgrades;
• maintenance of regular schedules to check all the system and server backups;
• maintenance of the Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LANs) and all associated network infrastructure, including domain administration;
• monitoring of enterprise systems and tools (Active Directory, file shares, Google Apps, finance and operational systems), maintaining all relevant system and audit logs.
1. Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware-, software- and network-related problems encountered by end-users of the District network, the Internet, the mainframe, PCs and Macintoshes and new computer technology.
2. Configures and installs Windows workstations and Macintosh operating systems in response to the demands of a complex network design.
3. Trains end-users on the use and features of the various operating systems and applications on the various platforms.
4. Performs primary network system administration on network servers as needed.
5. Installs, certifies and troubleshoots campus and remote-campus network cabling infrastructure, including a wide variety of local area network equipment and software.
6. Uses established tracking system to log requests; monitors progress, tracks problem resolution, identifies patterns of failure, researches bug fixes and implements solutions; communicates with manager regarding unresolved problems.
7. Works with vendors to resolve hardware operating system issues; researches and tests possible solutions and implements solutions.Analyzes bugs in system and application software; researches and tests possible solutions; implements solutions.
8. Works with Programmers to solve mainframe application problems to meet end-user computing needs.
9. Writes scripts and batch files as needed to enhance the function of the operating system.
• Enter data, via computer, pertaining to the services provided by unit. Update database information to reflect most current source information. Follow established practices or standards for the input and presentation of information. Proofread and verify data entered. Ensure accuracy of all information entered and presentation format. Make corrections as needed.
• Prepare and/or process checks to ensure prompt payment for goods and services. Print and distribute database information reflecting productivity and activity.
• Assist with routine office duties such as typing, filing and record maintenance as workload permits. Serve as back-up for other clerical positions in unit.
• Maintain management information systems (manual or computerized) locate suitable business premises and negotiate reasonable leasing agreements, provide and maintain business premises and other facilities including plant machinery and equipment, review and answer correspondence and provide secretarial or executive services for committees.
