Drive strategy and direction setting process for the Department in line with organization at objectives
Define the sourcing and vendor development strategy to various commodity categories In coordination with the various Departments
Drive continuous improvement and development of systems (also SAP platform) and processes from a supply chain perspective targeted at meeting the future needs of the organization — for driving both domestic and international business
Identify need for strategic alliance/ tie-ups for timely supply of materials and prepare plans for finalization of the same
Sourcing & Vendor Development Related:
•Define and implement the Standard Operation Processes (SOPs) for efficiently sourcing materials a f optimal cost, quality and quantity as per the need of the organization
Direct team to ensure that purchase orders, contracts, bids and service agreements are processed in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Guide the requisitioning department in
o identification and mitigation of risks that can impact supplier delivery
o Alterntative items and services, alternative sources, new material etc. to drive improvement in operations
Manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers and oversee negotiations to ensure best possible terms for IDMC; resolve any vendor issues, if necessary
•Guide the team in conducting vendor inquiry and review vendor inquiry report (with
information on type of material supplied, manufacturer ret, trader, financial details like turnover, experience — list of clients, years of operation, infrastructure — facility available and resources available and reputation — with existing and past clients, etc ) of short listed vendors
•Approve the selection of new logistic carriers in the domestic / international from
inputs from Lead- Sourcing & Vendor Development
•Lead the process of bidding, negotiation and development of legal contracts for logistics partners with inputs from the Legal team.
Finalize an appropriate transportation channel for procured in materials and as per the desired delivery schedule in consult a lion with the Supplier / Vendor and customer
Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of all finished products as per the dispatch plan (Domestic & Exports) along with necessary quality checks and documentation (including receipts from Manufacturing, genera lion of invoices in coordination with Sales & Marketing teams, etc.)
•Ensure proper packing of finished goods as per specific requirements of the customer and monitor packaging material availability periodically; continuously explore new developments in packaging for cost optimization and efficiency
•Ensure appropriate documentation of supply chain processes including inventory database, stores receipts, relevant permits and declarations, movement:/distribution orders and invoices Set up channels of communication with other Departments to keep them update d on the status of inventory, or in transit progress of materials
Ensure compliance to all relevant regulatory and corporate guidelines pertaining to store operations, Logistics, loading, transportation etc.
Prepare the overall budget for the Sourcing, Vendor Development, Inventory Management, Stores & Logistics Department in line with annual business plan and other Departmental budgets
Ensure adherence to departmental budget, Identify deviations and take corrective action to address the same
Review the key performance metrics / MIS of the department on a periodic basis and intervene as and when necessary
•Continuously evaluate performances of the vendors for selecting and developing alternate vendors with the purpose of gaining cost and quality benefits
•Drive cost efficiencies in functional operations through identification of new and innovative ways to drive cost reduction in Inventory operations
