USAID Firms Project
* Technical inputs to VCD team members for overall analyses of the value chains and developing overall
sector strategy and action plans for value chain development
* Envisioned to work on more than one sectors/activities, as and when assigned by the Component Leader
and/or his designee
* Provide support to Team Leader of VCD in various strategic and day to day operations for effective and
timely implementation of the assigned sectors‟ work plan.
* Ensure that the scheduling, budgeting, technical, and documentary attributes of component capacity
building related actions and associated data are fully up to date in the Firms Project work plan
* Serve as member of selection committees of long term and short term and intern
* Support the Component Leader‟s efforts to effectively inspire, lead and manage all staff that may be
assigned to the component, including ensuring that the day-to-day personal behavior and performance of all
component staff are fully compliant with the project‟s policy manual.
* Support the Component Leader‟s efforts to Maintain collegial, productive relationships with USAID,
component counterparts and beneficiaries, other Firms Project components and subcontractors, the
Pakistani private sector, and the Government of Pakistan while achieving the overall component goals
* Effectively liaise with senior Firms Project management, the Firms PMU, and other divisions of Chemonics
on all aspects of the Firms Project work plan implementation Develop and implement the strategic
direction, work plan, and resource (technical assistance, training, commodity, and other) allocations
necessary for the timely and successful completion of Firms Project work plan tasks and the achievement of
component goals and objectives.
* Ensure that the scheduling, budgeting, technical, and documentary attributes of component actions and
related data are fully up to date in the Firms Project work plan, including but not limited to updates no less
frequently than weekly.
* Ensure that the technical work of all local and expatriate consultants fielded under the component and
ensure that all end-of-assignment deliverables and other consultant and subcontractor performance results
are a) consistent with and compliant with the consultant‟s scope of work, b) are of high technical quality and
good overall readability, and c) are acceptable to USAID and other component counterparts and
beneficiaries.
* Provide overall component-related technical and managerial guidance for the solicitation, evaluation,
selection, award, and disbursement of any procurements and grants that may be undertaken as actions in the
Firms Project work plan, including compliance with Firms Project grants manual and procurement manual
criteria and processes.
* Serve as a member of any ad hoc panel or committee established by the Chief of Party or the Chief of
Party‟s designee to select candidates for employment, participants for overseas short-term training and study
tours, and awardees of subcontracts and grants, ensuring in all cases compliance with USAID regulations,
Chemonics and Firms Project policies, and Firms Project objectives.
* Ensure that all necessary routine and ad hoc reporting on component activities provides a timely, high
quality, and accurate reflection of the component‟s progress toward its goals and objectives and are
acceptable to USAID;
* Abide by all local laws, USAID regulations, and US Embassy/USAID project directives; Perform
miscellaneous tasks as may be assigned by the Chief of Party or the Chief of Party‟s designee as may be
required to contribute to the achievement of Firms Project goals and objectives.

* Sector lead of the Dates Sector by managing US$ 2.3 million value chain development program at Khairpur
& Sukkur districts.
* Developed Dates Program strategy focused on sales and job increase in the sector through a SMART set of
strategic interventions.
* Designed and developed strategic Business Excellence Models along with impacts and financials (SMART
interventions plan) for Dates, Dairy, textiles (garments), auto parts, marble and Gemstones sector to create
significant impact.
* Developed and managing sector annual budget by transforming all the strategic interventions inclusive of
infrastructure up-gradation, skills development and market linkages. The annual budget extensively divided
into quarterly and monthly activities for better management control.
* Developed and managing Dates program annual work plan and on field implementation by leading and
coordinating procurement, human resources, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), public awareness (PA),
Environmental and operational requirements.
* Preparation, implementation and monitoring of all the relevant SOWs, RFPs, Communication products, ,
budget, work plan and activity plans of Dates Program.
* Effectively managing daily project management operational requirements e.g. weekly reports, quarterly
reports, M&E calculations, training calendars, SOWs, strategy papers, Annex C reports, concept papers etc.
* Nominated and worked as a sector champion for Dairy sector value chain development
* Conducted Dairy sector value chain assessments and Dairy sector strategy development.
* Successfully designed and developed the short term Dairy sector intervention model as per the requirement
of dairy sector value chain development intervention.
* Successfully conducted & coordinated “SWAT Tourism Show” at DAWN Travel & Tourism Show Karachi
under rehabilitation of Swat tourism initiative.
* Worked as Acting Office Director - Karachi as additional responsibility and successfully achieved the
objectives by managing technical and operations team for effective delivery of objectives as per FIRMS
strategy.
