• Interface with Product Line Planning Manager to plan and prioritize purchasing activities.
• Review planned orders, creates requisitions for purchased items, and manages approval process.
• Transmit and prioritize approved purchase orders and supporting documents to supplier.
• Track order acknowledgement, prepares and communicates shortage and backlog reports, and provides visibility of potential interruptions to internal customers.
• Track orders and confirm system lead time, delivery date, and cost.
• Review, update, and maintain purchase orders until they are closed.
• Ensure orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts; report non conformances.
• Lead finance and logistics staff in resolving reception and invoice discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities and implements actions to achieve efficiencies.
• Contribute to consolidation, reduction, and rationalization of the local supplier base.
• Maintain positive relationships with their vendors
• Assess whether current purchases are performing well enough to justify their costs, and may be asked to offer suggestions as to more cost-effective or more easily procured materials and products that can help lower the company’s bottom line.
• Maintain current and relevant knowledge about every aspect of their company’s costs.
• Primary responsibility is staying on top of everything from purchase orders and receipts to tracking numbers and inventory counts.
• Identify when supplies are running low and place orders to replenish the raw materials needed to make the company’s products.
• Create and place purchase orders with the appropriate vendors and track them, signing off when the supplies arrive and logging the information in the records.
