Ensure stable and reliable network services (e.g. access products, service networks and core network).
Day to day network performance monitoring.
Network troubleshooting and fault analysis; hardware troubleshooting.
Preparing essential documents related to the department needs.
Deployment and maintenance of network monitoring, analysis and reporting tools such as: CACTI, SOLAR WINDS
Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes.
Installation of network hardware and software.
Incident manager during critical issues coordinating efforts among internal teams and the NOC, ensuring issue resolution.
Work with engineering to drive improvements in NOC applications and tools.
Identify recurring issues and escalate appropriately for permanent resolution.
Provide quality support following standard operating procedures and directly help to craft those procedures. Reporting to management about the network availability and QoS.
Follow up of Planned Outages and Up-gradation Activities happening in network.
Plan carefully for new IT/Power Infrastructure requirements for systems upgrade & minimum cost availability for future hardware upgrades.
Writes and reviews Data Center related technical/non-technical documents like SOPs, RCAs, RFOs and Research sheets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as a Data Center Facility Engineer to lead Data Center 24x7 Operations and Data Center Facility Management
(w.r.t. IT, Space, Power & Cooling infrastructure).
- Oversee and lead the 24x7 operations of multiple mission critical Tier II/III/IV compliance data centers of an ISP.
- Execute all aspects of data center operations including the operations, maintenance and repair of all mission critical
equipment and systems supporting a 24x7 data center operation to achieve 100% uptime and 100% compliance.
- Designing, Planning & Optimizing of Data Centers according to TIA-942 standards.
- Supervises all construction activities and installations, in coordination with internal and external construction resources, to
ensure system design, installation and testing adhere to operational standards. Witness testing of all equipment during
commissioning and validate sequence of operations and receipt of all operational documentation.
- Maximizing the Data Center space and racks Utilization and Managing & Proposing Data Center Co-Locations for Customers.
- Manages all local customer installations, in coordination with Sales Engineering, Design & Construction and Colocation
Operations to coordinate customer move-ins and turn-ups, including deployments, power circuit installations and
connectivity requirements.
- Manages provisioning of data center services including colocation, connectivity, raised floor services, deployment and any
additional services to be delivered to data center customers.
- Creating & updating Data Center Layouts in MS Visio/AutoCAD and providing Data Center solutions & consultancy.
- Writes and reviews Data Center related technical/non-technical documents like SOPs, RCAs, RFOs and Research sheets.
- Responsible for cost analysis, budget planning including utilization & planning for CAPEX & OPEX.
- Plan carefully for new IT/Power Infrastructure requirements for systems upgrade & minimum cost availability for future
hardware upgrades.
- Developing, implementing and monitoring energy consumption reduction policies and strategies for energy efficiency.
- Staff scheduling and assigning positions to DC team members at different Data Center locations across the country.
- Handle all staffing concerns including recruitment, training, coaching, performance reviews
Network & Systems Support
- Installations, configurations, monitoring & maintenance of all equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, servers) including OS.
- Provide level 1-2 technical support to co-located customers and troubleshooting during test runs, deployment and
maintenance phases of Network/IP & cloud services.
- Deployment and Configuration of virtual machines, storage & resource allocation with 95% achievable rate.
- Create servers/hardware, health check reports and resource utilization reports on daily/weekly/monthly basis.
