Sr. Project engineer at C4AS
  • United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi
  • August 2008 to August 2014

Worked into intensive program in US for more than two years in cooperate development program to develop new missile system (Talon Project) as System Engineer. During the latter period of working in missile development program as system engineer I exposed to system life cycle such as discovering system requirements, investigating alternatives, full-scale engineering design, implementation, integration and test. Worked extensively focus on representing customer needs into specification & requirements and how to proceed with the design and system validation & verification in the project. System Engineering integrates all the disciplines and specialty groups into a team effort forming a structured development process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. This job requires flexibility, excellent technical ability, the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment on a deadline.

Some of the rules and responsibilities that I was applying as system and project Engineer:
1. Coordinate system development tasks to include design, integration and formal test
2. Develop and complete actions in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements and other disciplines
3. Preparing Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and specification tree
4. Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution
5. Manage and document system configurations
6. control process compliance matrix
7. Technical reviews:
a. System requirements review (SRR)
b. System design review (SDR)
c. Preliminary design review (PDR)
d. Critical Design review (CDR
8. Understand how to Lean Processes by affordability, trade studies and Design to cost (DTC) to cost reduction activities involving component hardware
i. Alternate manufacturing processes
ii. Alternate designs
iii. Doing affordability trades to pro-actively optimize hardware designs to low-cost solutions to assure Target Unit Production Cost (TUPC) goals by:
• Working with suppliers, manufacturing, design, and systems engineering to integrate design space opportunities.
• Performing qualitative trade studies to drive to POM solutions
• Supports cost analysis model
9. Understands a program lifecycle stages and understands how their activities fit into and affects that cycle
10. Understand System process model for the project
11. Preparing a certificate of design (COD) compliance matrix with integration of requirements and evaluated verification.
12. Involving and supporting project financial: Build and Support financial costing for different projects which include assembling and logging financial data from all suppliers and then produce accurate Excel spreadsheets correctly showing milestone payments, margins & profits, cash flow and other spend profiles.
13. Deliver all project and engineering tasks as per the time schedule and within budget. Achieve revenue and cost targets for assigned tasks. Negotiate with customer and suppliers to agree terms and prices.
14. Contracts: Review and create as required contracts, Proposals, Scope Of Work, Technical Specifications, TAAs, Amendments and NDAs for accuracy, content, quality and version control. Liaise and develop a very good working knowledge and understanding of all contractual issues with participating in the negotiations. Maintain accurate records for version control.
15. Report, perform all assigned project and technical engineering tasks according to the quality management plan and ensure customer satisfaction. Manage suppliers and partners as required with increasingly more responsibility and inputs from other team members.
16. Report any new development areas and opportunities. Drive and Lead team members and suppliers in order to achieve effective completion of their tasks.
