Oversaw the development of the company from a small local readymix supplier to one the major players in the north east market with almost 20% share of the market. We worked very closely with all our stakeholders to ensure we had strong relationships across the business.
GCP Applied Technologies is the new name for Grace Construction Products. GCP is a NYSE listed leading global supplier of speciality construction chemicals and building materials.
Managed, mentored and developed a multi-cultural team based in Doha covering both concrete admixtures and assorted construction chemical products. Secured supply to the world’s largest reservoir project (Qatar Mega Reservoirs) which was a major coup for Grace Construction Products at the time.
With more than a century of experience in the construction industry, BASF is a world leading supplier of construction chemicals throughout Europe and the Middle East.
Responsible for admixture sales to readymix and precast companies in the busy Qatar market. Looking after a team based in Doha. Full profit responsibility for a business unit with a turnover of GBP 20 million per annum. Consistently attained and exceeded monthly and annual sales targets.
Full responsibility for running all aspects of a busy medium-sized ready mixed concrete company in Qatar. My main achievements were securing a number of high-profile contracts in Doha and Ras Laffan, development and implementation of new safer ways of working, reduction of the cost base through renegotiation of supply contracts and margin improvements through continued targeting of specific contracts and customers.
