• Control dosing rate of chemicals to refinery water users
• Update the chemical inventory and consumption for refinery chemicals
• Optimize the refinery steam consumption and reduce venting to atmosphere
• Assure that effluent water quality to Marafiq is on-spec
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and HAZOP studies on key process equipment
• Maintain product quality downstream of Vacuum Distillation and Propane Deasphalting Units

• Evaluated the quality of margarine at the labs to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Controlled operation of the distillation column through computerized control systems.
• Analyzed efficiency of steam lines using basic thermodynamic calculations. Results indicated that there was a significant wastage of energy.
• Managed flow of raw materials in and out of storage facilities and reduced mistakes in record keeping by almost 20%.
I have been recognized as a high honor student for the entire period of my undergraduate studies. I have maintained my ranking in the top 3 positions, having secured the first position twice and the second position overall. As a high honor student, I was awarded with an undergraduate student assistantship at the Chemical Engineering department. Apart from this, I have been an active member of the METU sports clubs. I am a member of the Capoeira group and the METU African Footballers’ Association. During the summer and winter vacations, I participated in English language teaching programs in the rural areas of Turkey as a voluntary activity.
