As a Visual Communication Arts tutor, I advised and supported first-year students in the department with their projects throughout the semester. Four times a week I gave lectures and facilitated discussions among students regarding design methods and theory, color management, formatting and layout, advertising and advertising history—often offering advising and assistance beyond what was required in the course. I served as a mentor and advisor for a number of students using my first-hand experience to enhance their academic and professional experience at the university.
