• Responsible for developing, documenting, reviewing and improving operational processes and procedures that cover all areas of the ICT Infrastructure and ensuring that they are fit for purpose, in line with Malawi Government ICT Policies and Standards
• Ensuring that the Directorate's ICT Infrastructure is secure from internal and external threats and that all privileges are pro-actively managed. Ensure all security breaches are investigated. Maintain complete, current and accurate records of all areas of ICT infrastructure security.
• Pro actively managing user requirements and expectations at all levels and implementation of action plans to improve the ICT experience
• Managing contracts and relationships with external suppliers and support organizations including having regular formal review meetings ensuring the best possible economic goods and services are received by the Directorate and that mission critical ICT services are maintained
• Ensuring planning, installation, testing, upgrading, control and management of all configuration items of the ICT infrastructure including all documentation, software, hardware and firmware assets, with relevant documentation relating to the configuration items, their dependencies and relationships of the Directorate are properly done.
• Ensuring an effective on-going support for all ICT systems in use by the Directorate thereby service provided to customers / users is the highest possible within the resources available
• Providing day to day management oversight for the service desk operation to ensure incidents and service requests and escalations to ICT management are dealt with in a timely fashion.
• Preforming network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications
• Supervises data entry personnel;
• Monitoring data entry equipment.
• Schedules and organizes jobs and compiles data to be coded.
• Recommends and assists in implementing new and revised departmental procedures.
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
• Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
