As the Finance Manager for Bahrain Operations of Chalhoub Group, I function as a Business Partner to the Country Manager & Senior Leadership of Chalhoub to effectively roll out, implement and deliver the Group Strategy, Direction and Objectives for the Country.
Pro-actively engaging with Commercial Business, Finance & Supply Chain teams in reviewing and setting of Budgets and targets, challenging commercial teams performance, margins, Buy-ins / Procurement and monitoring the sell-in and Commercial KPIs and performing internal benchmarking, evaluating and reviewing new store investments (CAPEX) and OPEX optimization.
Leading a team of 5, I am fully responsible for full spectrum of financial operations (financial planning & analysis, financial reporting & control and credit control) for distribution business, portfolio of retail stores and E-Commerce, providing accounting and VAT Support services to our Joint ventures and to develop trimester budgets and 3-year plans, represent the managed companies in Board of directors meetings, validate and sign off financial statements, engage with external auditors and responsible for Internal Controls and Financial Risk Management.
Also responsible for Treasury Operations, including cash forecasting, effective cash utilization and planning of credit facilities utilization, implementation of hedging strategies, FOREX management, relationship management with local and international banks and credit cards companies.
I am a dynamic and a result oriented professional, having more than twelve years of professional experience with Big 4 and in the industry.
My experience pertains to financial planning & analysis, in depth monthly P&L, B/S & commercial KPIs' reviews (footfall, average basket size, UPT and average selling price) reviews with specific emphasis on gross margins, stock coverage and payable & receivables position, statutory audits, risk based assignments and managing the accounting and finance function of a leading distribution and luxury retail company.
Currently working in the role of a Senior Financial Analyst, I am managing the financial performance of a private label Oriental Fragrance Concept across the GCC region (Distribution, retail and Omnichannel) and supporting the Head of Finance - Own Concepts in consolidating, reporting and analysis on the own concepts business performance.
Previously I was responsible for leading a team of professionals to manage the finance function of SAKS 5th Avenue Bahrain and support services of UAE operations, in addition to consolidation and management reporting & cash flow & B/S management of UAE operations.

During the course of my training and employment at PricewaterhouseCoopers member firm in Pakistan (January 2006 to February 2012) I have been engaged in assignments that pertain to Global Risk Management Services (GRMS) / Risk Advisory Services (RAS) and the Audit and Business Assurance Services (ABAS) Groups of the firm.
