Main activities and responsibilities
Inspection & Surveillance Department
1- Controlling all imported materials (except for pharmaceuticals, veterinarian medicines and vaccines) to assess their conformity to Jordanian Standards (JS) and Technical Regulations and labelling requirements.
2- Controlling local products and assessing their conformity with JS and Technical Regulations and labelling requirements.
3- Inspection of electrical elevators prior to usage to ensure that they meet the JS safety requirements.
4- Participation in preparing and modifying Jordanian Standards.
5- Following-up of customer complaints regarding non-conforming products.
6- Issuing export conformity certificates.
7- Issuing tender conformity certificates for governmental institutions upon request.
Metrology Department
1- Verification of mass, balances, blood pressure monitors, clinical thermometers, and pre-packages.
2- Calibration of masses, balances, volumes, mechanical blood pressure monitors.
