General Manager for AlKuthban General Trading and Contracting a specialized construction and MEP turnkey contractor, serving both internal and external projects within Kuwait. As a subsidiary of Shuwaikh Gate Holding (SGH), the company provides engineering, procurement, project management, execution, and QA/QC services to support the group’s diverse real estate and development portfolio.

Reporting directly to the Group CEO as Projects Manager at Shuwaikh Gate Holding (SGH), a diversified shareholding company managing a portfolio that spans real estate, construction, and finance, with assets exceeding 500 million KWD. SGH owns several subsidiaries, including Mudon, Kuwait Hotel Company (KHC), Alkuthban Contracting, Kuwait Engineering Bureau (KBU), AlQurain Real Estate, and others.


Departmental Oversight:

1. Project Management: Overseeing and handling all ongoing projects as the owner’s representative, ensuring alignment with SGH’s strategic vision and timely, cost-effective execution.

2. Government Relations: Managing the renewal and issuance of all licenses and approvals, including those from KFF Municipality, MEW, and other regulatory bodies.

3. Bids Department: Leading bid submissions, including participation in BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) projects, and contributing to CAPEX planning and ROI feasibility studies.

4. Maintenance Department: Managing all MEP and facilities maintenance activities across SGH properties and developments. handling P&L and operations management.

Other Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight: Lead the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring alignment with SGH’s strategic objectives.

Coordination: Serve as the key liaison between SGH, contractors, and consultants to ensure streamlined communication and collaboration.

Quality Control: Enforce quality assurance standards and practices to meet project and company expectations.

Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets to achieve financial goals while controlling expenditures.

Risk Management: Identify risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies to safeguard project delivery.

Reporting to the AutoMAK CEO, I oversee 100+ employees and manage Engineering, Facilities, and General Services in Kuwait, KSA, and Egypt. Responsibilities include:

- Spearheading strategic projects to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Managing procurement processes and vendor relationships for cost-effective sourcing.
- Supervising maintenance for reliable operations.
- Implementing security measures to protect assets and personnel.
- Overseeing high-standard accommodation facilities.
- Managing housekeeping to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsible for all aspects of the construction of IKEA projects. Providing technical and cost input to IKEA internal partners during the projects’ development / conceptual design phase. Other responsibilities include the permitting co-ordination, physical and cost aspects of the detailed design and construction phases of all projects.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to construction projects and follow up the execution from initiation to completion. This includes design, tendering, supervision, hand-over and project closure.

• Manage site inspections with the consultant to supervise the construction activities, ensure that the all construction activities to meet contractual conditions of performance and the approved design

• Review the work progress on a regular basis and prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.

• Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and health and safety regulations.

• Secure quality assurance and control processes. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

• Manage shop-drawing, method statement and material submissions of the contractors, follow and finalize the process with the consultant.

• Maintain relations with internal and external parties involved in construction projects.

• Secure an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality.

Projects Manager for the Midas projects department managing more than 60+ Staff ranging from Project managers to supervisors.

Responsible to plans and overseeing the building process of various construction projects from start to finish. include building and staying within the budget, retrieving the necessary permits to construct in certain communities, and communicating the client’s goals for certain projects to the subcontractors and construction workers.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other workers in the same project.

Choose subcontractors and delegate their responsibilities.

Responsible for any delays, emergencies and problems that can arise.

Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements.

Report project progress and budget to client.

Explain contract and technical matters to others in a clear manner.

Prepare budget and cost estimates, along with work timetables.

Facility management engineer for the AUM and ACM campus with a gross area of 260, 000 sqm, and managing 100+ staff ranging from supervisors to engineers.

Responsible for maintaining and overseeing a company’s grounds, buildings, and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. Including negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations, and coordinating renovations and updates.

Delegating maintenance tasks to team members.

Monitoring the safety of the interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots, and outdoor recreation spaces.

Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.

Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.

Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.

Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety, and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.

Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions.

Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs.

Responsible for scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. Handlining engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and establishing inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project.

Cooperating and communicating with the project manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and maintain the project's profitability.

Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
Developing specifications for the project's needed equipment.

Creating frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection.
Establishing field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.
Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
