Main Responsibilities:
Acting Director of financial and administrative
Alkan Investment LTD ( Chief Accountant Sudan Project ) from may 2005 till now ( present )
Organizes, directs, and controls the accounting department and related processes along with supervising all accounting staff.
•Maintains electronic general ledgers.
•Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place for all activities relating to the accounting, cash and bank functions.
•Prepare/review journal entries, reconciles and analyzes general ledger accounts on regular basis.
•Ensuring a smooth external audit process with minimum adjustments.
•Performs month-end closing process, including review of GL entries, preparing accruals, amortizations, depreciations, revenue verifications with other closing journals as necessary.
•Maintains complete cost accounting, projects and accrual records and submits monthly analysis of expenditure and revenue to FM and investigates variances.
•Close periods after approving all journal entries and open the next one and ensure that the periodic account closing activities are done on a timely and accurate basis.
•Supervise the Payroll processing, general ledgers, accounts receivables, fixed assets, payable, accountants and processes.
•Prepares Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss account and required supporting schedules on monthly basis for FM review.
•Reviews monthly bank reconciliation and cash reconciliation statements and ensure no overdue and no cash shortage or surplus is left on a daily basis.
•Keeps cash, cheques and other negotiable instruments in safe custody at all times.
•Monitor all outstanding purchase orders and keeps a record of all contingencies and commitments.
•Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
•Ensures that all accounting entries are supported with valid documentation and such documents are kept in safe place at all times.
