• Inspect and test malfunctioning medical or related equipment, following manufacturers' specifications and using test and analysis instruments.
•Test or calibrate components or equipment, following manufacturers' manuals and troubleshooting techniques, using hand tools, power tools, or measuring devices.
•Responsible for a wide variety of device warranties and service contracts within hospitals.
•Perform preventive maintenance or service, such as calibrating, cleaning, lubricating, or adjusting equipment.
•Keep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates of equipment.
•Explain or demonstrate correct operation or preventive maintenance of medical equipment to personnel.
•Explain or demonstrate correct cleaning or sterilization procedures of medical equipment to personnel following manufacturers' regulations.
•Test, evaluate, and classify excess or in-use medical equipment and determine serviceability, condition, and disposition, in accordance with regulations.
•Disassemble malfunctioning equipment and remove, repair, or replace defective parts.
•Plan and carry out work assignments, using blueprints, schematic drawings, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, or gases flow sheets, following prescribed regulations, directives, or other instructions as required.
•Research catalogs or repair part lists to locate sources for repair parts and recording their receipt.
•Help in requisitioning spare parts, by reporting to the direct manager the demands and needs of the department.
•Solder loose connections, using a soldering iron.
•Contribute expertise to develop medical maintenance standard operating procedures.
•Evaluate technical specifications to identify equipment or systems best suited for the intended use, based on specifications, user needs, or technical requirements.
•Study technical manuals or attend training sessions provided by equipment manufacturers to maintain current knowledge.
•Supervise and train junior engineers.
•Provide technical support for the department.
•Report and discuss with the direct manager the variety of tasks, problems of the department.
•Establish a good relationship with customers such as biomedical engineers, respiratory technicians, anesthesia technicians, and nursing staff.
•Communicate and establish a good relationship with our international agency’s technical support representative.
•After installation follows up with customers to establish high-quality standards and protect company reputation.
•After installation follows up with customers to find need/demand for a variety of accessories and consumables to guarantee continuity of using the device and satisfaction of customers.
•Help customers such as biomedical engineer by requesting through their channels the needed accessories and consumables
•Follows up with all related channels to accelerate the approval and issuing of purchasing orders to the company of the requested accessories and consumables.
•Provide, deliver, install and demonstrate to customers the requested accessories and consumables.
•After Warranty, follows up with customers and direct manager to make sure devices will enter under service contracts.
