• Introduced and supervised systematic follow up of field office ICT problems with the VSAT provider HNS. This effectively brought the number of VSAT outages from 18 in June to just 4 in July.

• Effectively stopped duplication and proliferation of technologies forcing the consolidation of existing technologies instead.

• Managing the difficult process of implementation of the immediate remedial actions in the recommendation of an infrastructure audit.

Managing the computer forensic laboratory

Be involved with the set up of the local area networks in the regional offices with full access to the Internet. Be involved in the design and implementation of VPNs to tie the regional offices into the headoffice. Acquired and installed HP9000 L2000 servers to run FileNET IDM document management software complete with optical jukebox installation and configuration. Installed and configured FileNET software for content and image services. Prepared proposal for the implementation of a storage area network for the Bank's IT infrastructure. Involved with the design of systems at an alternative site for the Bank.
In charge of IT at the main office and three field stations. Designed and implemented a local area network covering 11 buildings. Specified and purchased all IT equipment including file servers, fibre optic cables, switches and hubs. Installed and configured all equipment and NOS. Installed and configured cisco C2509 router and linked the site to the Internet over a 128 kbps leased line. Installed and configured a 30 port Lucent Portmaster access server for dial-in access to the LAN. Established a maintenance section for the maintenance of all equipment. Introduced the assembling of PCs from components as a cheaper means of acquiring computers for the company.
Managed a team of 3 computer professionals and 30 data capture staff that was incharge of processing of the 1984 national census.
