I assumed the position of a roustabout, roughneck, derrick man and assistant driller trainee. During this time, I learned rigging operations, cleaning and general maintenance of rig equipment, pipe handling, tripping in and out, how to use tongs, slips, chain tongs, pipe spinner, and other rig floor equipment. Also learned breaking out and making up drill string, check for mud weight and viscosity, mud mixing equipment and sand control equipment, etc

Worked with the Chief engineer and second engineer in the engine room of a vessel. General maintenance, servicing and repair of the main diesel engine, generators, and electrical appliances on board. Cleaning and painting of the engine room. Also assisted on deck during rigging operations, chipping, priming and painting
