Acts as unit receptionist, receives patient visitor and staff inquiries at the nursing station.
Transcribe physician orders accurately and timely, performs double check to ensure all
orders are complete.
Ensures all patient records have legible identification details.
Documents accurate records, including census statistics, diet list, discharge list.
Maintain awareness of nursing activities on a shift basis, receives hift-change report and
complete patient round with the charge nurse.
Demonstrate competence in the skills required to assist patients with activities of daily
living, mobility assistance of the visual and physically impaired.Escorts patientto and from
the exam room, Diagnostic Imaging and OPC department.
Plans assignments in conjunction with the Charge nurse.
Practices accurate patient identification check prior to any patient care documentation.
Applies infection control, patient and personal safety principles during patient
handling and procedures.
Reports promptly to the assigned Charge nurse following completion of assigned duties
patients complaints of pain, any aspect of patient concerns or unusual observation
related to the patient.
Demonstrate understanding o environmental safety, maintenance, infection control standards.
Uses communication channels appropriately follows chain of command.
Functions as a role model to all level of staff, Acts as a preceptor/resource for new employees
and staff to the department.
