Project & Specialized Cargo Logistics
Project & Specialized Cargo Logistics is handled by our professional team under the umbrella of GMTC, which has successfully handled more than 16 projects and we very well understand the importance of each and every shipment, small airfreight to heavy lifts and over dimensional cargo for a project.
Job Profile:
Shipping & Logistics Dept.
• Providing leadership and direction to the shipping department over seeing all the lines (WANHAI lines, Kline, RCL) and freight forwarding activities we represent in areas of responsibility including administration, shipping, receiving, scheduling employees, sanitation, quality, safety and environmental.
• Monitor, on a daily basis, the operations being carried out smoothly to the best of its requirement.
• Engaging in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating.
• Providing management of employees directly or through supervisors to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action and performance management. If a collective bargaining agreement exists, may participate in negotiations, grievances or other contract related activities and discussions.
• Planning, directing and coordinating the activities of the shipping department in an organized, safe and sanitary work environment that is in compliance with the Company’s policies, OSHA and government regulations.
• Coordinating the load out schedule with in-house distribution and outside contractors to ensure the timely and accurate load out and receiving of all products.
• Ensure all transactions are recorded timely and accurately. These include shipments, product loss and damage.
• Monitor and manage all aspects of employee performance.
• Ensure full compliance with all quality assurance standards, especially good housekeeping and overall cleanliness of work areas.
• Monitor and strive to achieve the successful attainment of the Sales to Service Metrics targeted.
• Contain and/or reduce cost and drive productivity within the department.
• Cooperate in a cross-functional manner as a change agent with all departments within the Company.
• Responsible for expense management and control, labor and overhead costs utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques and a Management Operating Structure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
