Paolo proposed and implemented an
holistic protection concept for the entire group s he worked for. Key responsibilities: Physical Security,
Cyber Security, Business Continuity & Crisis Management, Antifraud, Business Intelligence
(Osint), Compliance, AML.
During his appointment, Paolo was responsible for the design and implementation of
strengthening strategies and solutions to protect company from internal fraud, debit/credit
card devices and business, mitigate risks deriving from potential fraudulent
transactions/corporate bank investments as well as secure the Group IT network. He drove,
in full cooperation with ICT, the implementation of cyber defense policy, procedures and
practical measures. This massively reduced the losses UniCredit was suffering helping the
bank positioning in the top of secure banks.

Paolo clearly has developed a world class Risk Management function, compliance and AML,
well known in the European business scenario. With Yearly Budget 500M/€, UniCredit has
the full convergence of all security aspects under a single coordination platform, plus a
strong administrative skill to reduce costs. Paolo reported directly to the CEO/COO and
monthly to the Management Board.
Paolo managed in the global market as leader’s worldwide risk management program to
protect people, assets, reputation and investments of the company and to enhance the
company’s profitability.
The UniCredit security department has raised, in recent years, strong leadership in the
European market. Regional and functional managers reporting to Paolo have developed the
skill to act autonomously in consideration to global needs. With Paolo’s support and
guideline, the work of the team has tended to be strategic and well planned and,
consequently, with the confidence of corporate management globally. Systems, including
business and finance systems and data management was well developed. Paolo has strong
knowledge of technical aspects of the risk management market field and his team is
considered a benchmark. Paolo is today an opinion leader in Physical Security, Antifraud,
Compliance, Cyber Security and Business Intelligence. He has a strong international
network built during his long international activity and consolidated communication skills.
On January 2012 Paolo joined Finmeccanica as Senior Vice President and Group Chief Security Officer to develop and implement a company-wide security strategy and plan, consistent with appropriate and adequate corporate policies, regulatory and legal obligations and security undertakings, in all national and international jurisdictions in which Finmeccanica operates, incorporating a governance model, organization structure, staffing requirements, metrics and techniques to identify and safeguard tangible and intangible assets, with full functional responsibility for security compliance across the group, reporting to the Finmeccanica Chairman and CEO. In Finmeccanica Paolo developed a new Cyber Security organization, a new anti-APT strategy and collaborated with his cyber team in N-CIRC program for NATO.
Today Paolo is President & CEO Business Protection and Resiliency, member of Business Harbour Group.
BPR is mainly involved in the Financial and Industrial markets, providing “turn key” Systems and Subsystems based on the integration of HW and SW components.
