Business Process Reference Model (BPRM) Initiative
Previously, the IT team in Ma’aden adapted an application centric approach where technology was first identified
and then mapped to business requirements resulting in misalignment between business expectation and IT
automation.
Mr. Parwej was instrumental in introducing the concept of business centric approach where, first the business
requirements are translated to business processes and then mapped to IT solutions resulting in better business-IT
alignment and cost effective automation.
• Developed the enterprise wide process architecture reflecting entire business across 3 lines of businesses
modelled it in IBM blueworks.
• Setup the governance practices to adapt the process centric approach across organization.
• Helped organization achieve process standardization across affiliates.
• Enterprise Architecture (EA) Initiative
Mr. Parwej setup the EA discipline and worked on Business, Application, Data and technology architecture. The
Enterprise Architecture (EA) is now the basis for any ICT requirements because of following reasons:
• EA provides the holistic view for IT management on how business processes are being executed through
applications, what data the process generates and what infrastructure is utilized for the same.
• EA is being utilized to create the future target architecture to align with business strategy.
• Business Intelligence (BI) Initiative
The goal of BI initiative is to help business take informed decisions by having real-time insights via operational,
tactical and strategic reporting platform. To achieve this, various technology and platforms are being evaluated.
Mr. Parwej is involved in this initiative to setup the data management and data architecture discipline and align it
with BPRM initiative so the process automation and data management can be lined together.
• Establishing ICT Governance through policies and procedures
In 2015, Ma’aden moved from a federated IT environment to shared services one during which all the IT
departments in corporate and affiliates were consolidated and brought under shared services environment.
The foundation of this consolidation was a new governance model design and led by Mr. Parwej.
Mr. Parwej along with his team, used ITIL as the base to design the policies and processes.
Middleware Implementation
The aim of this project is to transform GASCO's fragmented and rigid IT infrastructure to highly agile and
responsive SOA based architecture.
• Involved in the end to end (E2E) architecture and solution design based on SOA and TOGAF principles
• Installation and configuration of SOA suit in clustered environment.
• Design patterns for better performance
• Challenging the vendor to use best and suitable solution for the current environment which reduces the
TCO (Total cost of ownership)
• Project Title: SADAD Integration
The aim of this integration is to automate GASCO's order billing by Integrating GASCO's EIS systems (Siebel and
EBS) with third party payment gateway (SADAD)
• Responsible for end to end integration & architecture.
• Integration requirements and architecture review of infrastructure.
• Third party (SADAD) coordination.
• Weblogic clustered environment setup for fault tolerance and high performance.
Project Executed
• Project Title: Vendor Integration Framework
This Projects was for implementing a vendor integration framework for client. It provided client with a consistent
integration layer to introduce and manage new and existing vendors in the enterprise.
- Involved in the architecture of Strategic Integration Hub (SIH).
- Business Process Management(BPM)
- Involved in Fault Tolerant and load balancing implementations.
- Highly scalable architecture using Oracle Weblogic and SOA Suit
• Project Title: Hour of Service(HOS) implementation
HOS is a leading electronic on-board recording (EOBR) system for electronic driver logs for automating driver logs
and thus helps its clients to comply with FMCSA regulations.
- Involved in complete design & development stages.
- Designing and developing data services for various HOS entities.
- SOA Administration and performance tuning
• Project Title: B2B Integration
This project involved B2B integration of clients ERP systems across various geographies and business lines. It was
for healthcare domain and based on HIPPA protocol.

CRIT
Parwej worked with Verizon Data Services for one of their SOA initiatives called CRIT (Contract Rate
Implementation and Transformation).
CRIT was a SOA implementation for Verizon which dealt with automating contract rate processing by integrating
various upstream and downstream application using weblogic suite of applications.
It had a BPM driven J2EE based front end, OSB for exposing and consuming web services, weblogic integration
for business logic and Aqualogic DSP for data operations.
- At the time of team ramp-up, Parwej played a key role in understanding the whole SOA architecture by
replicating the onshore unix setup on local servers and bringing up the whole application.
- Parwej also played a central role in training and educating whole team on SOA Technologies as most of
the team members were new to weblogic platform.
- CRIT later was moved to Agile/Scrum methodology and as a module lead, Parwej was responsible for
interacting with business users on daily basis, gathering requirements and implementing and testing the
same.
- Parwej also had an additional responsibility of working as a weblogic expert and troubleshooting weblogic
and application environment related issues.
Product Licensing and Delivery (PLD)
PL&D(Project Licensing & Delivery) was an integration Project based on SOA for Avaya, a US based telecom
hardware & software provider. This project mainly involved integration of Avaya's existing SAP system across the
globe with a new licensing web application to automate the customer licensing and delivery process. Additionally,
there were other systems like user management, SSO etc which were also part of the integration.
- Understanding the customer's functional requirements, translating it into detail technical design and
implementing the same in the form of various interfaces.
- Additional responsibilities include giving support to integration team, troubleshooting technical issues and
incorporating change requests.
Project Title:ICare
iCare was a telecom engagement for Indosat, second largest telecom service provider in Indonesia.
iCare was indosat’s initiative for creating an application integration interfaces for information flow between various
upstream and downstream applications like Siebel, Geneva, Provisioning system, Databases etc.
- Parwej contributed for the development of EAI framework and web application for Order Administration
for iCare.
- The EAI was developed using weblogic integrator 9.2 which involved creating various interfaces to
communicate to external systems like Siebel, Geneve, DB etc.
- The Web Application was a struts bases portal to administer and monitor orders which had functionalities
like user authorization and authentication, checking/updating/editing order status, order summary error
handling etc.
