• Development, implementation, review and continual improvement of certified ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 QHSE management systems (Independent or Integrated)
• Control of budgets and costing for safety training and equipment
• Develop and communicate Health and Safety Policies and Safety arrangements.
• Assure the business strategy and vision is implemented including business risks and opportunities.
• Organise and chair quarterly director safety briefings and employee safety committee meetings.
• Ensure industry memberships and accreditations are maintained
• Direct on changes to QHSE legislation that may impact the organisation.
• Ensuring that the company meets its obligations and duties under CDM 2015 as Principal Contractor.
• Formulation of risk assessments, safe systems of work and associated site-specific method statements.
• Deliver authoritative information and advice to directors and management to ensure safety legislation, regulations, ACOPs and ICOPs are complied with.
• Create and deliver health and safety related training packages at Group level
• Driving behavioural culture change programme across a large, complex, multi-skilled business
• Produce and deliver external and internal H&S communications across the organisation
• Control occupational health arrangements across the group of companies
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits as necessary.
• Undertake accident reporting and investigation as required to determine immediate, underlying and root cause analysis and establish necessary corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Fully responsible for the Development, implementation of the ISO & laboratory quality management systems across UK group of laboratories.
• Responsible for the QHSE management across all laboratory business units UK wide
• Identify specific health and safety training requirements and ensure training is delivered
• Provide authoritative advice on legislation and industry standards & Guidance
• Undertake risk assessments for laboratory testing operations
• Develop method statements and SSOW for laboratory processes.
• Conduct site inspections and audits across the UK
• Appointed Radiation Protection Supervisor
• Ensure safety communications are disseminated to all employees.
• Delivering extensions to the scope of accreditation to improve the laboratories capabilities.
• Liaise with clients regarding laboratory and in-situ testing and results and provide technical advice when required
• Ensure that all British and International standards are current revisions and ensure that UKAS publications are current editions and carry out standard reviews where necessary
• Providing practical and theoretical training packages, lessons and hand-outs for all technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
• Management of technical staff and allocation of daily works and duties to all technician grades
• Scheduling of testing in accordance with client specifications
• Fully responsible for the implementation of the ISO IEC 17025 & ISO 9001 laboratory quality systems and document control within the laboratory
• The directing and control of laboratory and in-Situ testing
• Ensure the laboratory environment is safe, maintained and compliant with requirements of company accreditation

Key Responsibilities:
• Served as a construction materials technician and combat engineer
• Regimental Construction Materials Technician for 21 Engineer regiment in Osnabruck, Germany
• Training and Development of recruit technicians at Royal School of Military Engineering
• Deployed in operational theatres worldwide in both construction and combat roles as well as participating in various training exercises in diverse and extreme locations such as Germany, Poland, Canada, Kenya, Bosnia, Kosovo and Nepal.
