insurance policy for high value coverage, hiring stow surveyors, permits and approvals for road
movement, management of the logistics provider for services, customs and excise compliance and
managing the movement and timely arrival of cargo towards serviceable return to plant; designing
risk management matrix towards completion.

 Port to Door Management - Manage local and international agents and local customs for import
clearance discrepancies, tax and duty clarifications, advise PowerGen on customs and port
regulations and duty assignments.
 Cost Management - Managing freight costs through the monitoring of fuel surcharge increases,
freight consolidation and incoterm strategies, mode of transport and route viability. Advising on JIT
arrivals for planned outages to reduce holding cost at warehouse.

 Risk Management - managing freight risk through incoterm considerations; transport mode options
explored; consideration for choice of route; consideration of market and seasonal factors;
developing contingencies to avoid all delays through Risk Assessment Matrix
 Freight Settlement Analysis - Oversee and approve all freight billings after the review for invoice
duplication, incorrect rates according to the contract terms, fuel charge increases, inland rate
justifications, justifying out of contract charges, general review of all accessorial charges to justify
the application and use. All billings are forwarded by freight forwarder, the 3PL (third party logistics
provider).

Procurement Manager - Supply Chain Unit.
 Sourcing - Procured MRO (Maintenance Repair and Operating) supplies stock for outage
schedules; managing spend and inventory holdings through blanket order development and
Vendor Managed Inventory strategies for consumables and PPEs

 Market Research - Seek / source new suppliers by preforming market scanning and review to
ensure competitive pricing and determine current quality standard

 Work load management - organised the distribution of purchase requisitions with plant buyers
according to outage demand, buyer project commitment and strategic vs low value requests
 Category management -re organisation of spend, placing consumable and hardware spares into
separate quadrants from high value spares, organised MRO spares for Long term service
agreements (LTSA) and long term parts agreements (LTPA)
 Contract management - oversee the prequalification of new / potential contractors and
vendors, with the ability towards; financial review and determined outcomes, experience and
resources

Inventory Manager - Supply Chain Unit.
 Cyclical and Periodic auditing - Design tender / scope for financial count exercise; manage third
party count audit providers through daily output review and alignment with the agreed targets
during stock count exercise; commitment reporting to finance on audit outcomes ( variances - / +)
; presentation to stakeholders re the findings of financial review .
 Inventory management -oversee stock levels for accuracy; monitoring inflation against increasing
inventory values and quantities; overseeing request for inventory increases and making
recommendations for additions or otherwise; Establishing EOQs; advising operations in the design
of warehouse layout for new facility.
