A. General Surgical Ward Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities:
Rendered nursing care and responsibilities for pre operative and post operative patients on cases under: General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Dental, Plastic Surgery, ENT
•Taking and monitoring vital signs of the patient and health history status
•Perform Echocardiography
•Acquiring details on Pre operative assessment checklist
•Initiating intravenous line and withdrawing blood samples to be send to laboratory for investigations
•Administering Doctors prescribed medicines (IM, IV, subcutaneously, intradermal and nebulization)
•Preparing skin site for surgery (shaving of parts and removal of cast)
•Recording accurate nurses notes and encoding in Oracle Hospicare
•Observing and recording the conditions of post operatively patients (this includes fluid input/output monitoring and taking glucometer RBS)
•Monitoring and assess the integrity of surgical site and wound dressing
•Perform sterile wound care dressing in accordance to doctor’s order
•Maintains daily care on personal hygiene of patient (bed bath, oral care, etc.)
•Assist patient on early mobilization and ambulatory
•Preparing patient for discharges; communicating with patients about their need and arranging for follow up visits
•Giving health teachings about their medication/nutritional intake regime and wound care management
•Auditing patients chart and creating a daily report for administrative submission and filing
•Checked and maintain crash cart checklist, defibrillators, suction machine and sterility of the equipments used
•Maintain daily/monthly inventory on medicines, vaccines and consumables expiry


B. OPD Urology Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Making schedule for all patients appointment and answering all telephone inquiries regarding our offered services
•Prepare patients record for consultation
•Assist Senior Urologist Doctor in minor cases such as cauterization, Suprapubic catheterization and Urethral dilatation
•Assist Senior Urologist Doctor insertion of Foley Catheter
•Operates Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL) machine
•Operates Uroflowmetry machine for patient
•Performs minor dressing
•Preparing patients insurance forms. This includes: 1. submission of pre approval forms to assigned insurance coordinator; 2. collaborating with insurance coordinator for status of pre approval forms 3. and updating patient on status of investigations approval
•Arranging for follow up visits of patients
