Core Purpose of the Job: To provide Almarai Transport & Logistics with a total Workshop solution by overseeing the department that provides long haul fleet and light vehicle maintenance services. Operate the fleet workshops on a commercially viable basis and make it capable of being benchmarked against any other professional international service provider and help to achieve the five-year plan enabling the Almarai Group of companies achieve its targeted levels of growth in the middle east.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to a maintenance team of 300+ members in the largest vertically integrated FMCG company with a fleet of 1800 Units of Trucks including MAN, VOLVO, Mitsubishi & Isuzu, 2100 Transport Refrigeration Units -Thermoking, Carrier Transicold.
• Optimize resource utilization by deploying & managing the workshop team across multiple locations in KSA & Gulf countries .
• Ensure 100% department compliance with agreed quality standards, SOP’s and audits. Foster a culture of continuous improvement. Standardization to be applied to all aspects of the workshop using best practice.
• Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements.
• Optimize the available workshop facilities to ensure minimal use of 3rd -party services. MRP management for all spare parts making best use of consignment stocks wherever possible. Flexible workshop team capable of site relocation if required. Manpower in place to meet the demand. Ramadan/Hajj plans for workshop to be aligned to the other divisional requirements. Produce detailed five-year plan to support business growth.
• Develop and maintain a culture where Health and Safety is at the forefront of behaviors and decisions.
• Direct, manage and optimize the Workshop team to achieve operational targets, Retention and Recruitment of staff to meet budgeted volumes. Create opportunities for Locals to learn a trade in the workshop
• Sets specifications for a consolidated fleet and Operates workshops under commercial principles.
• Working capital (spare parts) levels to constantly reviewed and challenged and agree and set KPI’s with all stakeholders.
• Motivate the workforce to meet and exceed all future business challenges and set localization targets and recruit staff. Also Develop succession plans for key roles. Set goals and objectives and provide clear succession plans for departments and also identify areas of risk within the Division.
• Make strategic business decisions in conjunction with the Head of Transport & Logistics Division
• Chair daily / weekly department meetings.
• Keep updated in any changes in Public Transport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & GCC.
• Review department performance KPI’s every week and take corrective actions where necessary.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and encourage continuous improvements.
• Manage the budgeted overheads to achieve targeted R&M cost per unit or better.
• Compile annual budget delivering YOY reductions in cost per unit.

Regional Fleet Manager at Almarai
