In addition to normal lecturing, i used to guide the students to do projects and I myself completed to Minor Research Projects and one Major Projects funded by the University Grants Commission. Moreover, I am guiding Ph.D Research Scholars. Three of my scholars have been awarded Ph.D Degree by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. I have also written five text books to students.

I did my Research in Fisheries Economics on the Title &quot;Marine Fisheries Finance in Kanyakumari District - An Economic Study&quot; under the guidance of Dr.S.V.Hariharan, School of Economics, Madurai Kamaraj University. Important findings of my study are:
1.Marine Fishing is one of the important industries of Kanyakumari District which provides employment, income and livelihood for the rural masses in the coastal villages.
2. Insufficient fianancial outlay is the main cause for the existing poor financial, marketing and other infrastructure facilities.
3. Out of 44 fishermen villages only 5 have banking facilities. Because of this, the fisherfolk have to depend mostly on informal credit.
Considering my contributions in the form of Major and Minor Projects completed, Seminars/Conferences ateended and presented papers, Publications in Journals and Books, Research Guidance, Publication of Text Books, Serving as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Principal in the college where I have studied The Association of Economists of Tamilnadu honoured me with Senior Economist Award in Annual Conference of Association of Economists of TamilNadu at Gobi Arts & Science College, in Gobichettipalayam during November, 2011.
