Involving the design works of the tunnels in the MWSIP programme tunnels which include various sizes from 4-8m in diameters, long and short in lengths, NATM tunneling drill& blast, mechanical excavation, TBM tunneling as team member of tunnel design and as designer for tunnel portals in different ground condition.
As a Tunnel Construction Engineer involving the construction supervision of mainly 6.6m shotcrete 6m concrete finished diameters of 6 & 2 km length drill & blast tunnel, 4.1m shotcrete finished diameter 820m drill & blast tunnel, 3.7m diameter waterproof concrete finished 620m mechanical, drill & blast excavation tunnel, 7.6m double shield 2 TBM drive tunnel of 27 km and 8m diameter waterproof concrete finished 1.1km mechanical, drill & blast excavation tunnel.
Involving the design review and construction supervision works of the various sizes of water tunnels and shaft excavated by drill & blast with NATM as team member of consultant of the project
Attending all technical & monthly progress meetings with Contractor, Employer & Engineer.
Timely identify the construction and technical issues in the design and work methodology make decision based on site conditions.
Involved the site construction works which include two water towers with 1000m3 and 400m3 capacity with 45m & 28m height.
Managing the site resource to complete targeted works on time by allocating the varying man power requirements in weekly basis, equipment and material arrangements on requirements.
Involved preparation of all kind of tunnel MSs & WDs to produce Consultant and get the approval prior to start of construction works as senior team member of Contractor. I have involved directly 13km long 5m & 5.6m diameter of concrete and shotcrete finished drill & blast with 3 Adits. Also helped the other parts of the under ground excavation and support works in this project specially underground power house, vertical surge shaft of 80m height, inclined pressure shaft 700m long and various other tunnels.
Involved preparation of EOT supporting documents, various day to day cost claims apart form the BoQ works.
Managing the all resource on timely manner by ordering the materials based on the site requirements after getting the 3 quotation as a company procedure. Also allocated the required man power and machineries timely to complete the works according to the work programme to complete the works on time.
Involved in the pipe laying project as site engineer and directly monitor all operations in trance excavation including the rock blasting in various sizes, laying of uPVC, GI & DI pipes as the raw water main, gravity main & distribution system in the urban and nonurban areas.
Involved all meeting with employer and solved site issues in weekly & monthly basis and complete the project with two EOTs.
Involved in installation of 100m3/hr. crusher plant including the washing unit. Having the all quarry operation experience by managing the designing the open blast, doing the blasting works under my supervision, mucking the quarry products and maintain the access roads.
Also involved some times for the internal quality control works such as all labatorary tests for aggregates
Involved all underground construction works of the Kukuleganga HPP as team member of the main Contractor of the project which includes 5km headrace with two adits, 1.2km tailrace, 900m access tunnel, 400m cable tunnel, underground power & transformer caravans with access, vertical surge & pressure shafts connecting tubes.
Dealing all the the day to day documentation off all activities which take place and submit them to the Consultant get their acceptance to continue the works.
Involved preparing a database to collect the all under ground process including the cycle time, blasting records and delay records.
Involved in various soil investigation and in-situ & laboratory tests for different projects, such as buildings, roads including expressway, and other civil engineering projects.
Involved the practical with university students as instructor, also solving the subject related questions as tutor.
I have under gone industrial training in Industrial aggregate quarry & crusher plant and soil investigation firm for various investigations with in-situ and laboratory tests . Also involved in the project identify the radio activity minerals in the rock phosphate deposit in Eppawala, Sri Lanka.
